Adam said that samus's cellular makeup would of changed if she gotten the icebeam. what would of rlly happend if she did?

yes but, when she couldnt adam told her something about changing her cellular make up she still had the varia suit i think

Getting the Ice Beam would've harmed or maybe even killed Samus at that point. When she absorbed the SA-X at the end of the game, it restored her DNA to its original state and allowed her to use the Ice Beam, or at least reconciled the Ice Beam with the Metroid part.

This is Sakamoto answering the question, mind you, but at least it's something resembling an official answer.

I wonder what metroid dread will be like and what excuse they will use to take samus's powerups away

Metroid Dread will just be short slip of Sakamoto peeing directly into a camera and therefore on you the player on loop for two and a half hours. Upon completion he turns around and squats down and there's a freeze frame with the text "See you next mission!"

at this point, the whole "Metroid Dread" is like a childhood trauma that triggers every once in a while.

i'm surprised people haven't forgotten about that yet. even the game that shall not be named will be forgotten first at this rate.
