Woot, First post.

Anyway, when the battle starts, make your way to the higher platform. Then, walk towards the left of the ledge so that only one foot is on it, and that foot is barely on the platform, and you are about to fall into the plant in the water If you were to move any further to the left.

then duck and turn around.

You can beat the first phase of Nettori without moving. I discovered it on my 1% run.

Hope it helps you people, and I really hope this is new...
Thread title:

Arrgh!!

The plant boss thingy!
Ah, Now I know who your talking about. I just saw the 1% Run on segments 20 and 21... and I must say. Looking at those makes me feel stupid, lol.

your not the only one. I never thought nettori could be so easy.
Actually, I just played Metroid Fusion and I tried that... Now my question is... How the heck can you do that? I kept either running into the boss itself or fall in the the Flower of Doom.

welcome to the club. had about one in ten accuracy with it, and i'm probably much more precise than you. so all i can say is, keep trying.

I think I just noticed something... He uses a Power Bomb right when he enters. Do you get hit by the boss when it's getting hurt? I can't find out because I just beat Ridley-X. (That was on my speed run btw.)

In the commentary, he says he PBs right when he enters the room for a constant stream of damage to Nettori... nothing is mentioned about immunity while bosses are hurt.
I was just pointing that out because when I ran into Nettori like that, I got blown back like 3 feet. But, when he does it, its like he has a Invincible cheat on or something. But, when I can, I will try it :).
no, he simply stops either one or two pixels away from the nettori collision area. it's apparently a rectangle, so you can be inside nettori's "head" with no penalty.

rectangles and circles make collision detection a lot faster. I mean who would get hte stupid idea to sit right next to nettori anyway  Twisted Evil

yeah, because no one is going to do with metroid fusion what they've done with every other metroid game ever released, right?</sarcasm>

i never went along with the "ancient civilizations knew how to convert energy into matter, how to skip between dimensions, how to cure the common cold, how to give a woman an orgasm, and how to make a good video game" theories, but maybe i should start.
Quote from njahnke:
how to give a woman an orgasm...

1.  Socks
2.  Waffles (toasted)
3.  Car Battery
4.  Jumper Cables
5.  Fishing Net

Simple mathmatics after that, really.
