Cook of the Sea
Lemme wax eloquent here for a sec...

It's really cool to sit here and, not having the dough for the actual game at this point, watch as the forerunners of the Metroid elite--the l337, rather--take the latest Metroid game, pick it apart, find shortcuts, break sequence, beat bosses with fewer and fewer energy tanks, and speed run it for the world to see for the absolute first time ever.  That's what I like about this site.  It's just...cool for some reason.

Heh, call me a brown-noser if you like, but I've never been one to brown-nose.  Just speakin' my mind, 'cause that's what I'm good at.
Thread title:
considering you'd have to be a moron to think you'd get anything out of brown-nosing, i take you at your word. i share that view, obviously, or i wouldn't have poured so many thousands of dollars into this operation. ;P
Cook of the Sea
Dollars well-spent.  I mean, the average person would look at this site, look at the videos and wonder:  "just what the hell is the point?"  The point is in one of those random subheadings up there:  pushin' that edge.  It's the same feeling that I got when my cousin sat me down and taught me the basics of truly elite Smash Bros.  "The first rule," he said, "is for every press of a button to have a purpose.  Know what you want to do next and do it without the slightest hesitation. Don't ever stop moving or doing something."  It's not about getting really good at the video games, it's seeing how well you can beat the actual games themselves.  Outsmarting the programmers.  If you can succeed that well in the virtual world, it's a mirror of what's possible in the real world.  That's the point, and that's what, in my view, makes not only this site but also video games in general worth the time and money.

Having shot my "Patrick Stewart soliloquizing about mankind in the Observation Lounge of the Enterprise-D" wad for now, I'm going to go carpe diem that Pre-Cal Homework.

That's very... deep...
red chamber dream
But it's very true. Ha, I remember SSB. It felt so good to be able to cream anyone I played before they knew what hit them...discovered it all with a friend of mine.

lol when i first saw kips 1:08 run, my head almost exploded. it was the first sequence breaking i had ever seen. i mean seriously, the second he lands in overworld he uses his scan visor and magicly transistions to the ledge. took me a good month to figure out what it was all about, sequence breaking and all, and then finally doing it my self.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Where can I get this 1:08 run?
