Thats.. a little morbid..
I guess it WOULD be a good way for revenge, you have to admit that other methods have a slightly less lasting appeal to that.

I'm pretty sure I read it on a Swedish news site. And it was like a year ago. I did however find this, which is the same story that I was talking about.

It's a very big deal to people who are involved with the person who is dead. Last summer while I was on vacation I went online one morning to find that someone in the other MB I post at had suicided. I didn't know her well, but it was very upsetting nonetheless...and this was a tight community. As in seven to nine years together for some of the core members, including her. Several people drove across several states to go to her funeral.

Though maybe you're wondering more why it would be a big deal to people who aren't in those communities. No answer for you there, other than that it's an example of how close communities become.

Regarding the AIDS thing, I know I've seen in several articles that in some places people believe that having sex with (translate: raping) a virgin will cure them. I can bloody well see why women who had been treated that way would feel vengeful.

I think that the reason this suicide is such a big issue, is because of something that Jack Thompson wrote, which can be read here. This little stunt performed by Jack Thompson has finally corrupted my respect for the man. He attempted to capitalize on someones death, and their loved ones suffering, for his own agenda and political power. Death is not something I take lightly, nor is exploiting it for ones selfish ambitions, and as a result, I now feel nothing but pure loathing for Jack Thompson, and I no longer respect him as a human being, nor do I aknowledge his intentions as anything but selfish, egotistical, and arrogant.

No, the people who were befuddling me posted the befuddling things several days before that letter was written (or at least posted anywhere). They were also people who did not know the suicider in any way beyond seeing the topic to which I linked.
