Ahh the beautifulness of it! Today I got my hands on Zero Mission.
Such a cool game it is too.

I have a couple of questions.
In Norfair there is a room with two worm creatures. One you kill by shooting its stomach from below with the wave beam. I dunno how to kill the other. How?

I have Varia, Speed booster, Screw Attack etc. And I have no clue where to go now.

I got Super Missiles in Crateria, I didn't see Corollax's method but I did come up with my own.

Run toward the pillar and charge the spineshark. Wall jump up the pillar to the top, jump into the air then horizontal shinespark. You'll hit the ramp and get the missile.

where am I supposed to get Super Missiles?

Heh I was stuck at that insect thingie too for like 15 minutes... Then a friend tried it out and found our how to do it almost instantly! :(

Just shoot at him so he backs to the right. Then you apparently just lay a bomb which he eats when he starts rushing to the left.

He eats the bombs?! I thought the bombs have to explode beneath his stomage.  :x

Well I don't know. It's either :) It looks to me like he eats them. I usually lay them so they explode right in his face though. Dunno if he's fast eater or something. Anyway, bombs are the way to go.

That E. Tank above him played a little with me on my first run... Then I lay a bomb under it & voila. Easy as... as firing a missile :)

Might add that that I couldn't beat the thingie so a friend wanted to try. And that's what he says happened so I don't really know :)

I worked out that you bomb his stomach. :P

I had Super Missiles and Screw Attack before I fought Ridley.

From the screw attack room go two levels down and you're in a long room with three pipes that enemies come out of. I managed to speed boost through that room then shinesparked upward to get the screw attack... Then I learnt about missiling the blocks!!! BAH!

The power bomb next to Samus ship I got like this.

Using the Brinstar Crateria lift I power bombed through the BIG rock, speed boosted past Samus' ship then jumped onto the rock, dashed into the slope and ducked again. then I tried (many times) to diagonal ballspark up to the bomb. I got it too :P

In Brinstar the Super Missile you get by Ballsparking through two rooms I got just after High jump.

I've beat the game twice so far and am half way through my third.
1st beat was 2:29 with 67% items
2nd was 3:3? with 87% items.

my second run was spent exploring the world with my newly gained Gravity Suit and Power Bombs hence the longer time


oh and I've almost practically mastered the IBJ and DBJ. My start double bomb jump needs a bit of work but once I'm in the air I can go on until I hit a ceiling or wall.

Well, once you hit a wall you can either keep going vertically or go the opposite direction... I wish there was a use for this :(.

That's the genius of it, it lasts for quite a while. Hard mode is just nice, and then there're the two 15% runs to do. It's a heckuva good time. In fact, the 15% runs inspired me to start a 1% fusion run, just to feel the burn of not enough missiles again. Damn the event++ system for destroying the possibility of real low percent runs...

Heck,I got MZM yesterday and I'm on Kraid right now.
Heheheh..I've found my own Ifininate(sp?) Bomb jump method.
Laughing  Just gotta slam the B button at a certain pace.
Just one question,how do you get TO Kraid? (I know how to beat him)

There's a room to the south where you need to bomb the floor. Then you need to find another "Unknown Item". It shouldn't be so hard after that ;)

I liked the idea of the Unknown Items. I knew the moment I picked up the first one what it was

Is the IBJ in other Metroid games (SM, MF) any harder than this one?

Finished the game for a third time Normal - 1:30 with 66% items.

How do you unlock hard mode?

Something I thought was really cool in the game is that
You can go back to Tourian after beating Mother Brain and seeing the place in ruins!


Something that's EVEN BETTER!
Mother Brain's room and the escape path is almost IDENTICAL to the wrecked Mother Brain room in Super Metroid! There's even an item beneath her tank ijn BOTH games!


I love the connections between the games...

Yeah, I thought that was cool too.
One thing though, why can't Samus just have moved to the save room or something? All of Tourian and even Zebes is totally intact. Only 2 rooms got blasted.

I wondered why only 2 rooms got blasted as well, prolly just to allow you to return. Samus probably freaked out at the self-destruct and thought it would have taken out the planet, yet when she left the 'other' Pirates on the mothership may have overridden some of the self destructs and confined it to only Tourian


I found a way to TOTALLY screw yourself over in the game!

on your first journey to Norfair, after getting the Ice Beam, when you get back to the Green bubble room freeze the floating creature and go through the secret path to the top right (you need a missile) go ALLLLL the way down skipping the green room. You can now goto Ridley, without Varia, High Jump, Speed Booster or anything! I went in with 2 energy tanks and realised I couldn't get out! Nor could I go further because I didn't have enough health to get through the heated room!!!!

All of those items are skipable, and you never have to set foot in a hot room. You're not screwed.

Hrm. You don't need to go through any Heated rooms to get out. And, I'm pretty sure there's an E. Tank down there. I had 399 energy and went and got the Wave Beam and Screw Attack without all those items you sais. ;)

I actually found that in the room to the right of the 1st save point in Ridley, you can missile a part of the roof and IBJ up it to get to the far right of Ridley without going through the rest of it.

Last Night I thought I found my own sequence break. Getting Varia suit just after bomb by IBJing up the shaft and up all the rooms to get it... But then I seen in the ZM section that it's already been found :(

I just got this game to It's kinda hard to get used to because all I have been playing lately is Fusion. I like it alote. I just wanted to know what the connectivity features are with Zero mission and Fusion.
