How on earth do you get the screw attack and other beams? [locked]

Ice Beam: There are two Ice Beams in the game. The first one is in Brinstar. After you go through the hall from the blue part to the gold part, go through the door ahead of you. You'll be in a blue tunnel with acid. The next room is one screen, and is a bridge over an acid pool. Do NOT bomb through the floor. There is nothing down there except a shaft which is difficult to escape from. Keep going through the next blue tunnel. The next room is another bridge over acid. This time, bomb around the left side to find a hidden passage. Go down through the fake acid and you'll reach the Ice Beam. To get back up through the blue bridge, you need the high jump, or do a bomb-assisted jump, or jump into the block when it reforms.

Ice Beam Norfair: From the elevator to brinstar, go right to the large purple shaft. Go up all the way past 2 doors, then shoot through the ceiling on the right side. Jump above the blocks as they reform. Go through the door on the left. Follow the passage left, past 2 missiles, through the wall, down, right, and through another wall to get the Ice Beam. You can leave by going to the right from the beam.

Screw Attack: From the elevator to Brinstar, go all the way right to the big purple shaft. Go down through the floor, then go through the first door on the left. Get the High Jump Boots, then bomb through the left wall under the statue. Continue left until you rech a green shaft. Shoot up through the ceiling on the right, then go through the left door to reach the Screw Attack.

Wave Beam: From the Screw Attack: Go back to the green shaft and bomb back down through the floor. Go left until you reach another green shaft. Go down into the fake lava and bomb through the floor on the left. Go down and through the door on the right. Go through a lava room to a one screen room (you can bomb down here to reach missiles). Continue right through another lava room. Be VERY careful when going over the tall narrow platforms, if you fall in it is nearly impossible to get out. The next room is a bridge over lava. Bomb down on the left and go through the fake lava, then go left to get the wave beam.

That glitch doesn't work for me. If Samus dies right when it goes to Brinstar, she floats in the elevator shaft in brinstar with no energy, then falls off of the bottom and dies.
