I saw it in a video and I wanted to know how to do it. It is the one where you bounce in morph ball mode and then jump up and screw attack to reach higher areas.

It can be really tough to get used to, but I generally move a bit away from a wall, and morph. If the camer doesn't swing around, that's what you want. Then, I roll back towards the camera, and as I near it, flick the wiimote up, press C straight afterwards very quickly, and then space jump.

It truly is one of those things that you simply have to practice to get used to. I'm getting much more consistent with it every time I try it, so hopeully my tips will help you. :)

I'm sure the more competent BSJ'ers out there will come up with better tips.
Thanks Paraxade extra_smug
Sweet I am going to go try it now  laugh new
Every Bit Counts
The "bounceing" is the spring ball. You flick the wii mote up (or down from a vertical position) to use it. The bsj you can look at Metroid Prime 2 if you wanted an exact defination. To do it, morph infront of a wall. Then use Z and the control stick to move the camra so your infront of the wall, but the camra is looking away. Then lay a bomb (this is a bsj, not a spring-bsj), and let it propell into the air. During this or near the top of it, hold back. Near the top or around, push C and half a secound later, hit B. You should get an instant unmorph and jump. That takes a lot of practice. After that, use your secound jump and screw attack (if you have it) to get more hight and distance.
Thanks a lot  grin new
Okay, so I know how to do a bsj but when I try to jump (or even double jump) after unmorphing my crosshair turns yellow and keeps me from jumping. So, basically, I turn my camera towards the ball with my back against a wall, I move back jump and unmorph simultaneously, and I instantly appear in FPS mode and am not allowed to jump in mid-air. :( I wish I knew what to do. Also, this is for the Turbine Chamber as I am trying to get the Spider Ball early (on Hypermode). :)

EDIT: I just did it. I had to jump at THE right time.
You can't get Spider early by BSJing up Turbine Chamber. >_>

It leads to Sw1 in Chozo Observatory, however, so if I can get to the secret world then I should be fine, I think.
You can't get to Spider early from SW1.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think I may have found an easier way to perform a 2BSJ using the Springball. I say this because I was testing something out in Phazon Quarry on the Homeworld, and the location I chose to test wouldn't instant unmorph when I did a normal Spring Ball jump. It would only do so after I set a bomb near the peak of the spring, and then when I unmorphed directly after beginning the ascent from the bomb.

The only other way I could get the instant unmorph was after doing a DBJ and unmorphing after the second bomb, which is what we're supposed to do with a 2BSJ if I remember. I was able to pull off what I beleive was a 2BSJ at this same exact spot as well, using the current method, and it was the only other time I got the same amount of height.

Like I said, I'm not 100% sure about this method and it even is a 2BSJ in terms of height, but I was able to pull it off more consistently than the current 2BSJ method. (Which is hardly at all for me: Hadn't been able to get one to work before I tried this out.)

When you flick the wiimote, it doesnt have to be a big huge motion (making your crosshair go off the screen), it just has to be quick. you dont need to make extreme motions ever, like the kind that make people throw the remote through their TV screen ;)
the platform in the end of the video is probably the best place to practice. instant unmorphs every time.
Yeah I'm having problems too.

I still don't understand how people are explaining it.

To my understanding, you need to get the camera in such an angle that after  a jump, when you unmorph it instantly goes to FPA view with no animation inbetween which is when you jump.  I don't get what angle that is.  Are you meant to move along as you do it?

I'm desperately trying to get around the jungle generator path on Bryyo backwards.  I don't get the ghetto move either - tap L at any point near the press of B to go a bit further, but how this works on the wall/morph tunnel to gain height bit has got me.

No, you need the camera in a position where it doesn't have enough room to show the full unmorph animation because there's a piece of scenery between Samus and the camera. Pretty much any wall can be used as this piece of scenery, so morph and position yourself so there's a wall behind you and the camera lies between Samus and the wall, then bomb jump/spring ball toward the wall and unmorph to get the instant unmorph.

A ghetto jump has nothing to do with tapping L. All you need to do is jump when moving up a slope and your jump will be higher than normal. The slope in question in Generator Hall North is a small rock in the corner and has nothing to do with the wall/morph ball tunnel.
Thanks for the advice.  The ghetto page says you L jump and someone else told me it was off the morph ball tunnel.

So... I just go up to the slope and jump a bit?  Sounds easy enough.  But I have a feeling it won't be. :/

Of course it could be all in vain given that I keep getting pwned on the first generator the right way around on the circuit.  Damned enemies going into hypermode and shooting me in the back!  And you can't even backtrack to save.  Grrrr! Evil or Very Mad
GM- you're at the hardest part of a Hyper run... In my opinion...

It took me many many tries to get that part right, but I really learned how to use hypermode and conserve energy.

keep at it!
I can get a single bsj to work all the time now and I can do it quickly.  But for the life of me, I cannot get 2bj to work at all.  I don't know what I'm doing wrong.  I'm getting instant unmorphs from 2bj, but I can't get a jump in mid-air to work afterwards.  Not even a single jump.  What am I doing wrong?
Try laying the third bomb earlier, while you're still ascending.  I think the game won't let you do it out of a full double bomb jump, only out of a 2BJ ^_^

Cheers - it would help if I wasn't trying to get the '3-handles down at the same time' friend voucher and/or do a backwards route thingy via North Hall.

I've tried it like that as well many times.  Nothing I've tried works.  I've been practicing 2bj for awhile.  I haven't gotten the space jump to work afterwards even once no matter what.  I guess I just suck at it badly.  Single bsj?  No problem.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Have you tried varying the distance from the wall?

Also another good thing to practice is to start off by laying the bombs so close together that it's basically a single BSJ.  If you get that successfully, you can gradually space out the bombs.
Right, seriously, SERIOUSLY this is p1ssing me off beyond belief.

I take it that the camera's meant to be 'in' the wall or something?  I tried it after going through a door ala the BSJ video in Phendrana and against all sorts of walls.

I'd really appreciate seeing  a video of North Hall BSJ.

Also, Paraxade - the rock pile in the corner gave me nothing.  You try to jump whilst on it and nothing happens.  You can't walk up it, only jump on to it, and then you slide down and jump doesn't work.  Help?
No, there are two rocks, the one on the left is a slope. Don't jump while on it, jump while walking up it.
