What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
See, now it's weird, unexplainable crap like that that explains why Retro chose to change the story in PAL.  I still stand by the PAL lores as canon.

One thing I don't like about the PAL version of prime is it doesn't explain how prime just happens to have a shield to all but one of your beams. But yeah, the other version has the larger plothole.

On topic though at first glance I didn't realize it was Sylux's ship, but it  most closely resembles Sylux's ship than anything else seen in the Metroid series. So I'm reasonably sure it is, especially when you account for how popular Sylux became in MPH and he's the only one with a real motive to be tracking Samus of the known characters.
What about Weavel?

Well, the Fission Metroids just happen to shield all but one of your beams as well, and they're not technology related at all.

Yeah (I wish it was, my favourite hunter), but we don't know for sure that Weavel holds a grudge against Samus for blasting him into a red smear across Zebes, forcing his conveniently intact brain to live out the remainder of his life in a mechanical shell. That'd make too much sense. We know on the other hand that Sylux hates the federation and Samus whereas with Weavel we can only assume. Also we've never seen Weavel's ship so you'd think they'd give us a better indication if it was him.

Blast those fission metroids, even after two sequels they still come back to haunt me.

Weavel's ship was visible when entering the Oubliette (yes, it was his.  It's identical to concept art showing it next to him, captioned "each hunter has his own ship to fit his design").

Hmmm... never noticed Weavel's ship, but just to be clear are you stating that the ship in oubliette was definitely Weavel's or that the ship at the end of Prime 3 is definitely Weavel's? I presume you meant the former :O?

Oubliette.
I didn't mean that the ship belonged to Weavel, I just meant he's the only other Hunter besides Sylux that would probably have some sort of grudge/reason for coming after Samus and entering the main storyline.

That doesn't mean they'd have to show him off at the end of the game though if he makes a comeback down the line. I was throwing out the possibility.
then who sent the transmission of the three dots so many times
when getting the screw attack in prime 3?

242.
It was weird, I swear we were going to return there, and find 242 wasn't the only one trying to contact us... and why they couldn't. Oh well.

yeah, i think we should of all just agreed to throw out the ntsc version in the first place after retro decided to change the story.

I dunno... Rundas, Ghor, Dark Samus, or even Weavel could just as fittingly be the pilot. (I can't tell if they're facing the same direction or not and therefore might look a little more different than they should, but...)

I'm going to go with Daz's idea and believe that it's Dark Samus's ship, because it never said DS was killed. She just turned into a bunch of particles like she always did in MP2 (only they were liquid droplets). I guess for all we know DS just lurks around the universe in that ship for the rest of Samus's life, because a Metroid Prime 4 doesn't sound like it's going to happen.

Or it's just Sylux for some reason, but...

We've already seen Rundas's, Ghor's and Weavel's ships.  They look nothing like that.  And it looks even less like the Delano 7 than I remembered.

Also, Mamba fails.  "The windshield looked like Dark Samus's even in Hunters"?

Dark Samus's face is not a bright green circle. >_

I do believe DS's scan says she is composed of pure phazon, and I find it difficult to believe she survived the "complete" destruction of phazon and the destruction of phaaze. Especially since her particles were falling further into the core of phaaze rather than away from it.

And after seeing those two pictures side by side, it would be a difficult task to convince me that those are two different ships.

But it isn't his ship--it's a ship that's fairly similar, so perhaps they just wanted you to keep him in mind, so that you'd be surprised by the identity of who it really is.  A misleading gesture.

Well, if you take a look at the graphical changes to Samus's own ship between MP1 and MP2, it seems obvious that Retro would take on a bigger graphical leap (and better graphical design) than that of Hunters.  I'll agree that it is impossible to say for sure, but it sure is implied to be Sylux.

And on the note of the Metroid Prime in MP1... I always thought this was the chain of events:

Metroid Prime is found by the pirates while they're mining, and after some trial and error, they contain it.  The Metroid Prime assimilates Pirate armor and weaponry and manages to escape, and goes back home to the Impact Crater.  I always thought that the Chozo Artifact Seal protected against the phazon poisoning the planet at a faster rate (since the phazon in the crater is like whoa-orange), and wasn't solely to imprison The Worm.  I'd figure with all that phazon around, the Metroid Prime could only get more and more powerful, so eventually it could escape if it pleased.  We all know how much DS/MP loves phazon, so why would it want to leave?  The entryway to the Impact Crater from gathering all the artifacts is specifically for Samus (the Chosen One they speak of so much in the Chozo Lore) to go in and kill the MP.  So I wouldn't consider it impossible for the pirates to be able to mine their way into the Impact Crater eventually, since the Seal wasn't perfect to begin with.

By the way, Hi, I'm Papa Brain, and I am new here.
I just finished this 100% about 40 minutes ago.  Truth be told, I didn't think at all about it possibly being Sylux's ship.  I've forgotten most stuff about Hunters.  I just, don't like it enough to play through again and again like the other titles.

But aside from that, those ships do look quite similar.  It would be interesting to see what becomes of this for the next Metroid.

Also, it could very well be Sylux's ship because didn't Retro lend NTSC some of its artists for Hunters?  They would know the design of the ship pretty well and probably could import it into Prime 3 pretty easily.
Now, I havn't really played more than an hour of Hunters, but the left ship on the picture looks a bit like federation ships in the game, while the one on the right is more of a space bug, kinda like the hoppers on Bryyo, only teal-ish.

Honestly at first I didn't think it was Sylux's ship at all... I totally didn't remember it from Hunters.  After some YouTube searching though, I was more or less convinced they were the same.
OH ****!!!!
Doesn't sylux (if i read his bios right) hate the GF and samus for unknow reasons? Maybe just maybe this is dark samus? Just a theory i had because like ridley and (i can't beleive im about to say this) kraid, Dark samus is to good to die.^_^

Well, I think that's why they give us Sylux's ship at the end, to be like... don't worry, there are still badasses out there that hate you Samus.

But DS = Dead, no exceptions
