Believe it or not that's actually a floppy disk.
It's the graphics. It reminds me of the one's they use for final fantasy.

He's going to have to isn't he, for Fusion's story to work? (Unless they plan yet ANOTHER game somewhere in the timeline for him to die saving Samus.)
