Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I hope all you guys are aware that in testing the game, you may lose some of your enjoyment during the actual release, as you won't really be playing normally, but looking for errors and stuff.
I'm kinda looking for errors anyway when I play a new hack, but if I was actually beta testing one then I would be conscious of it the whole time and beefing up the effort to find errors tenfold.  That sounds enjoyable to me.
I understand that.  I haven't tested before and would like to.  Also, I'm pretty familiar with the original Metroid and it's maps, so I thought that might help in testing a hack of this nature.  Finally, I'm not that good a player, so it will be good to see how the hack plays for someone of an average level of skill.
Quote from P.JMan:
Sometimes it's better to let oversights be though. Like in Cliffhanger where you can get bombs before morph ball (remember that DMan?)

Nothing wrong with an oversight that allows interesting choices -- so long as it doesn't break the game. That's the key thing.  Nobody's arguing against sequence breaks. :)
Being a beta-tester would be something I would absolutely LOVE to do, as I constantly search for errors, the oblivious, and such.....but it all comes down to whether or not certain people can be trusted as well. I know I wouldn't want my piece to get out without consent because somebody decided to freely distribute my patch.

So I'm pretty open for beta-testing at the moment, as my current WIP is stopped with little time in my current standing to do anything major.
