In which you will probably just find tbob bitching about the RNG, God, or RNG God being bullshit and also a straight bitch.

For those who are curious Hearthstone is a free to play children's card game for the PC and IOS, download it if you want! We'll be nice and try to help be almost as bad as us!

Otherwise ignore this thread and enjoy glorious days not filled with me bitching in the other games threads! We'll be here until we get bored and/or tired of losing.

I've been playing mostly Warlock because Life tap is a sweet power and as of right this moment I've achieved a whopping 9(!0 total wins against real people. Shoutouts to those other two Warlocks the were silly and made decks of 99% Taunt cards, you helped me get here! Naturally the game has blessed me with a shitload of Hunter cards, Oh Boy!

I'm going to assume they are bad cards just to fuck with me further, but I'll probalby have to give Hunter more of a shot at some point.

i'm loving hearthstone. omg the warlock is pretty damn fun. void terror is such a bad ass minion. i used power overwhelming, a spell that grants +4/+4 to one minion until the end of turn (then it dies), then attacked with it, then played void terror to get a 9/6 monster. won in just a few turns after that. this was against the cpu though obviously.

my main class though, and the only one i've played seriously against real people, is shaman. i'd say i win more than i lose, and often the losses are due to rng. sometimes though it seems like i'm put up agianst opponents with way better cards than mine, but it's fine i guess. you still get xp, and experience fighting good players.

Man it must be nice to get good cards.

i had like $40 xmas money in my itunes account - 20 of it is gone to hearthstone ;)

Yeah You do have to be careful with Void Terrors though since some dickweed rogue or priest is liable to just kill it off with one of their instakill bullshit cards before it does anything, then you're out three dudes and real mad. Or it gets Hexed or polymorphed or god damn it all.

But yeah Shaman's pretty cool I kept the deck I made for it while grinding so I could mess with it later if I feel like a change of pace.

I mean it's a shit deck because I literally only get Hunter cards but that's how it goes.
red chamber dream
hah yeah i know how you feel. shaman is my main and i rarely ever get shaman cards, let alone shaman rares or better. just gotta keep grinding i guess.

warlock was all I used in the closed beta and I got a lot of really great cards. Of course after it launched I haven't gotten anything good. My entire Hunter deck is crafted at this point, but I'm definitely having the most fun with hunter.

Only played Arena once since launch. won once, then lost three times in a row because of bullshit opponent luck with legendaries and dealing ~20 damage to me by turn 4.

Also this guy uploads a lot of his absurd high-play games and moments. The last 15 seconds of this video is worth it:
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Beat the expert AIs with my Warlock deck, used the resulting gold to buy a pack. Got jack shit! Reduced a Rogue card to dust that  I can't decide what to do with and shook my fist at the RNG.

Then I learned that despite having many Hunter cards I do not actually know what to do with any of them at least not against a Mage. *Flamestrike Flamestrike Flamestrike*
One shall stand, one shall ball.
haha oh god the end of that video.

ok, mind control pisses me off lol

by the time it's used i never have anything to stop it, guess i need to save even more cards

it's ok, i bought 15 packs yesterday and only got 2 epics. no legendaries, and all the rest contained 1 or 2 rares. bullshit man.

crafted one each of these bad boys today though:

http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/214-feral-spirit
http://www.hearthpwn.com/cards/280-azure-drake

now my shaman deck is doing pretty well. i'd like to have 2 each of those, but this will do for now. azure drake would probably be good in any deck, i've learned that card draws are basically the most important thing in the game. i used to load up my deck with taunt minions, but they're essentially wastes of cards (since they just die in a turn or two, then you're down a card). better to give yourself plenty of useful spells, and get your taunts up with feral spirit. i also initially made the mistake of avoiding overload cards - originally i wanted to have one deck with overload and one without, but now i doubt you could make a successful shaman deck without overload. cards with overload are too good. ;)

Yeah I've been on the receiving end of Feral Spirit, not super fun to deal with.

As for Taunt it's definitely useful but easily over done, it's there to buy time for your other minions to deal out damage and be sort of annoying not make an impenetrable wall like some of the Warlocks I've encountered seem to think. I keep four Taunters around in my Warlock deck to cover for all those 1-3 cost minions I have that would otherwise be dead before they can do much of anything.

God yeah that's irritating. Priest in general is just annoying as fuck to deal with.
red chamber dream
yeah main thing i've been concentrating on is not wasting cards, only playing what's necessary to be in an ok position until i can make a move

but shaman is a stall-y class, i'm sure not all classes are like that (say, hunter)
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Figured I'd start playing ranked for the hell of it, won my first match on turn 6 lol. Gonna get smoked so hard once if I get past bottom tier. ;v
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Also I bit the bullet and used that dust I'd gathered to bang out two Doomguards and two Flame Imps, burned that stupid fucking Pit Lord to get enough dust. Both have some pretty nasty backfires because Warlocks but it's hard to pass on a possible 3/2 turn one minion and a 5/7 Charge turn five. Figure if I play fast the 3 damage and discard two battle cries won't hurt too much. Usually around tun five is when I'm looking to get rid of some cards anyway.

The big issue so far is that I have the amazing ability to draw the highest cost cards in my deck on turns 1-4 when the vast majority of my cards are in the lower cost range as I'm aiming to kinda rush dudes. Having two Stormwind Champions in my hand turn three is not going to help me. But boy let me tell you getting that Flame Imp turn eight is a game changer! Thanks for that game! :v *Gets Fireballed some more*

my shaman deck used to be like that - i'd run a crapload of level 0-3 cards, a couple 4s, and only a few higher than that.

now i don't run any level 1 minions at all heh

Yeah pretty much you're guaranteed to not have a fun game if you're up against a priest that has even a half decent deck. Definitely the class I hate getting paired up against the most.

Yeah after four straight wins in ranked, including going up against a guy with some epics, I decided to stop pushing my luck until I get some good draws. I'm curious if it takes into account how many legendaries/epics you have in your deck when calculating your MMR.
red chamber dream
yeah now i usually just concede immediately v. a priest because i always lose and the matches take forever lol

just becomes a waste of my time

meanwhile i got a second earth shock in a pack, so my shaman deck keeps getting more efficient.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Priests may be ass to play against but oh my god does it feel good to kill them on turn 8. Shove those three hour attrition games right back up your ass, buddy. Get dunked on.

if you have a spare copy of unleash the hounds, it got updated recently so old copies are now worth 40 dust. went ahead and disenchanted my only copy. they're common anyway.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Somehow I do not have an Unleash the Hounds. One of the few Hunter cards I haven't had thrown at me.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Had a lot of people give up way early last couple days. It's not like I'm playing super intimidating hands guys. And I'm mistake prone so if you stick with it you might win!
red chamber dream
dude i had that happen for my first 3 battles today, but then the next few i got totally stomped

but yeah definitely 1 or 2 of those times i thought it was pretty early for them to resign
One shall stand, one shall ball.
My first match today was against a Priest who quit with like 20 health left. He played one card.
red chamber dream
haha must just not be used to playing against warlocks then
red chamber dream
warlock is one of the easier classes for my shaman to take down, since shaman is built to stall for a while anyway
