I just thought of somthing. (requires action replay?)

If there is a moonjump for this game, for action replay, I think this might just be an interesting bug.

The seeker missile room, has a portal in it, but I'v tryed all the ways I can think of to reach it.  Is it possible to go through it?  If so what happens when you reach the other side?

I'v always woundered  :?

You can't get up there, no matter what. I've tryed to, but made it to the redline. At the end of the game, some how she doesn't aiwebs_016

There's an incomplete spider track in Torvus' Portal Chamber that looks like it was meant to take you between the two parts of the room.  This thing's so unfinished, though, that there's no way to see or touch it otherwise; it's completely invisible and hollow, leaving you floating and spinning like mad in the air for a large portion of the track.  Movie to follow.

EDIT: Alright, processing's done:

There are actually two tracks, one for each half of the room.  Pretty obvious this connection by Spider Ball idea never really got off the ground and that the magnetized air is merely some kind of beta artifact.

i got a weird glitch today.

it was in the Quadraxis fight. i was trying to record a hard mode fight with a strat i made but at one point when i entered the 2nd phase, the HUD was all screwed up. i think that doing the SA right when the cutscene started caused this.

if this old or new? i want to know. if it is new, i'll make a vid.

edit: i made the vid anyway:

Yeah, not sure if I posted this here before or not...

Found it out, like... two and a half years ago.

Anyways, if you take two controllers while going into multiplayer (make sure they're both ready to play), and hit B on one controller EXACTLY when you hit start on the other, you'll hear the player withdrawal sound, but Multiplayer will start anyway.

It's pretty weird. The SP hud loads with both of the visors, and the arm cannon is conspicuously absent (but it's there in the Player's Choice version). When you fire, the noise plays, but there's no shot to speak of. Once you get the missiles, they'll work, but they'll only fire from a certain part of the map (don't ask me why). The missile count is also right where it should be, but, instead of being a fraction, it's gone back to being Metroid Prime-styled with a strike through it.

Oh, and you can't grapple. I've tested it in both 1.0 and the Player's Choice (NTSC) versions, and it makes the game crash back to the GameCube logo/Wii Menu.

Pretty big oversight if you ask me.

what what?

is there an actual player's choice version of this game now?

also, that glitch sounds really weird.
Yeah, there's been a Player's Choice of Echoes out for quite a while now.

As for the glitch, I just use it to listen to the soundtrack. :)

(Posting from the Wii. Hells yeah.)

i made vids of the glitch:

i found out that you can rapid fire missiles while in that situation.

btw, have you encountered big differences between the PC and regular versions of mp2?
Aside from the arm cannon actually LOADING and the beams switching, I haven't discovered much difference between the Player's Choice and 1.0 versions of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
Okay, sorry for the double post, but this is worth it.

I just recently remembered another glitch I discovered a long time ago. (Seriously. It's scary how many things I forget. My father's birthday is one of those things.)

In the Vault Attack Portal, there are several grapple points you can attach to. To activate this glitch, you have to open a portal (doesn't matter which one) and fire your grapple beam at the point while backing into the portal.

Once you arrive on the other side, Samus's grapple arm will be permanently stuck in the air until one of the following happens:

1.) You leave Sanctuary Fortress.

2.) You hit the R-Button.

3.) You lock onto something. (This point is null if you're using the Scan Visor.)

It gets stuck in place, so, in order to reposition it, either enter screw attack or morph ball mode.

And, yes, it does stay raised between the light and dark worlds. You should see what happens when you use the Scan Visor with the glitch active. (Grapple Beam attaching to random things, anyone?)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wait... if the grapple beam attaches to random things, couldn't you potentially use that to reach new places? Or do you not swing?
Well, you can't swing, and the Grapple Beam only attaches to things if you're using the Scan Visor to lock on (all others make it go away, I think).

Also, it's pretty funny seeing the effect roll with you in Morph Ball and Screw Attack.

Forgot to mention that the Grapple Beam sound plays continuously in the Vault until you go back to the Dark World and return after executing the glitch.
All right, this is probably well known and all, but I havent seen it on this thread...14 pages is rather long.

Anyhow, there's this room in Torvus (Light World, of course) called great bridge. Coming from that room with the morph ball track and portal, go through the door into great bridge and then look right. There should be some tree roots there. If you look between two, you can see a SW! It's the first glitch I ever found for myself in MP2E, and its cool. You can see the light door above you floating in mid-air, with the door locks that come on when dark pirates appear hanging in nothingness. Really cool.

First post for me!  grin new
Sometimes, when you activate the drill in Mining Station B, the bottom bomb slot will remain active until you leave the area, after the portal is revealed. Using it will make a drill appear and spin below the existing drill, then it will vanish when it stops spinning. This is because after revealing the portal, the drill stops higher than it started. Also, the portals in Staging Area (not in the pit), Mining Station B and Trial Grounds can all be walked through without the repulsion effect, but the sound will still play. Finally, the scan-to-activate portal in Vault (Sanctuary) is listed as a Light Portal if you scan it (oops!).

Cheers,

Matt

Don't forget the Vault spinner scan oopsies.

Edit: See my Grapple Guardian Glich topic for another strange glitch recently discovered (by me).
I found this while fighting Emperor Ing:

Apparently its caused by making an arm retract just as it opens a portal. It goes away the next time Emperor Ing opens and closes portals. This is the second time I've encountered this glitch. I have a video of the first time I encountered this that includes the glitch being started but I thought it would be too long.

I think there might be a possibility of leaving Mutated Emperor Ing during the fight. Sometimes if you SA him he will send you really high. Also if he stamps his feet near you it will send you into the air even higher if you space jumps before it happpens. It seems that you could get enough height to reach the area you enter from. One time he hit me after I had space jumped and I somehow managed to SA towards the exit and just barely missed. Although from what I've been able to see so far the door might be locked but it would still be fun to shoot Eperor Ing from above.

No chance.  For 1 and 2, the door is locked and Sanctum Access is refreshed, so you can't use the power bomb trick to keep it open.  For 3, even if the PB did work, the entire corridor leaving the room is sealed off by an invisible wall.  That doesn't mean you can't be thrown onto one of the smaller, higher up ledges though if you really want a sniping position.

2 Questions: What's this power bomb trick you're talking about? I'm not sure wat you mean by these higher ledges what areas of the room are they above?
It's really a Heegoth. :)
I have a couple to share. :-)

Reach Unreachable Portal:
While messing with the Screwball. I went to the 'Hall of the Honored Dead'. You are facing the active dark portal. Look right at the dead
Luminoth
. Jump on its ballsocket. Face the dark portal. Double Jump with right timing and screwball your way there! There safety measures are wrong laugh new. But the portal doesn't transfer you knowhere :(. That sucks eggs. But its a more secret than glitch. MP2.

Skip Agon Energy: Collect the Dark Suit. Then go to the crystal beneath the gate. Hit it (1 time) with the Dark Beam. Jump on it. You made it to your destination. NOTE: If you go exploring through Dark Agon, you don't have much Ing activity with the energy.

Skip Torvus Energy: Just go way back of the room without using the Bomb Slot. Hit the door. If it takes only a couple sec. for the door to open. Then you have done it correctly. Look down and you see the platform hologram. NOTE: If you collect Sanctuary without collecting Agon's and Torvus's energy then it will show you did when you really didn't.

So, I hope these glitghes are fun to perform. grin new

1. Power Bombs can be used to break locked doors by keeping the other side of the door open.  Go up to a door that has a lock on the other side, bomb it, and race into the other room to shut the door again.  The Power Bomb will open the door on the side you came from, and when you walk back over to the freshly locked door, it will open and you can go through the lock to escape.  This is only really "useful" for escaping Dark Pirate Commando fights and is otherwise useless trivia, though it is the first and only known method of successfully opening and escaping through a locked door in any of the main Prime games (well, 1 and 2 anyway, I don't know about 3) without the use of secret worlds (in MP1, locked Ice doors can be opened with the Ice Spreader, but the locks are solid, preventing use).

2. There are small decorative ledges, one extending out above the entryway to Sanctum and the others to the sides and on the opposite wall.  It takes a bit of luck to get up to them, but it can be done.

These are already known!  Check other on main site (www.metroid2002.com/echoes) if you haven't already.  And Echoes doesn't need spoiler tags!
Not a glitch, just a really weird observation. I SAed into the SW in Portal Chamber and crossed over to Great Bridge. Beneath Great Bridge, by the edge from where I entered, was a wide purple line that stretched from one end of the room to the other. It didn't do anything; it was just there. I figured an artist goofed, but I don't know. Has anybody else ever encountered anything like it anywhere else?
Take cover or die...
I don't know if anyone posted this yet, but this happened one time when I was skipping the Ing Hive keys with the BSJ-screw method. When I did screw, Samus took the position she would take RIGHT before she was in screw mode, but she stayed like that. She was shaped like a ball, but not like morph ball, it looked a little different. On top of that, I could still screw, but there was no orange glow when I pressed B and she just floated up and down when I pressed it. She returned to normal when I landed on the other side. It looked really funny when it happened to me the first time. Also, when doing the same method, sometimes the camera would switch to the view below Samus when I did screw, so I couldn't really see if I was below or above the gate, but the camera kept following where I was going. Again, it returned to normal when I was human again.

i've got that glitch a few times also. i think it happens when the game fails to load properly the correct animations. the first time i thought my game crashed.

there is screw ball in echos?
