A little screw attack fun at Central Mining Station (requres DivX):

http://www.zeromission.co.uk/tjp7154/mp2nosj/glitchguy.avi

Normally these guys go around in circles when you blast their shell off.  If you screw attack them, they go off in whatever direction they were facing when you hit them. Eventually they'll explode.
Warning: This bug will self-destruct in 10 seconds.

Seriously, that's a little weird.
I found an odd bug involving Dark Samus 4. I used the Dark Beam to begin the phase and charged it up to get the Phazon particles and blasted her. I got her down to 1/4 health after a while, then switched to Power Beam. I absorbed more Phazon with the Power Beam and fired it at DS4, only to have it HEAL her for the amount of damage it should have done. I've managed to recreate this twice, can someone explain what's happening?

Don't fire on her when she's dropping the shield; it either does nothing or you heal her.  Basically, you have to waste the shot on getting her back into the air, since you can't keep the charge.

I tried to keep it myself, and all I could get was a bug that disabled the arm cannon for one shot. :\
There was a glitch I had found one day while playing.  I got curious as to what would happen.  Warning: Useless glitch: :P

In Reactor Core, after getting the Light Suit, shoot the door leading to the room with the pillar of light, but don't let it open.  After that, let a Rezbit hack you, disabling your equipment.  Then run through the previously shot door, and head into the pillar of light in the room.  Because you were hacked, your visor is glitchy.  The cut-scene will also be glitchy as well (actually, that may reveal an interesting way that Retro put the glitchy visor in...), oddly enough.  Once you go through the pillar of light, your visor will be back to normal, but... you'll still be hacked.  Your beam won't work, missles, etc.  Basically, you're hacked but the visor works.  Press the reboot buttons and watch all your equipment begin to function again.

Pretty fun, actually, but somewhat weird, I suppose...

hm interesting glitch...
i'll try that sometime.
The Rezbit thing isn't new; some guy on G'FAQs started a thread where he played with the virus and posted a bunch of interesting but ultimately useless results.  It's gone, though. :\

Anyway, here's one I can't believe I've never, ever encountered before.  A charged Annihilator shot cannot open portals.  I thought this was something caused by the AR, but I just tried it on a normal 101% file and sure enough, the Disruptor goes right through.

Anyone want to see if this is the case in the PAL and Japanese versions?  Missing it myself is one thing (I don't look for this sort of bug), but for Retro not to catch it is really odd.  This isn't the first time it's happened, but the other times were local phenomena (like the ice in Phendrana Shorelines in Prime 1 and the light crystal used to deactivate the shield in Crypt).  I've yet to find a dark or light portal that will respond to the Disruptor.  Just another strike against it I guess, and there's a lot of them already....

lol what a huge oversight.

proves that the annihilator was a very late addition and probably was created near the end of the development cycle. no wonder it is used in so few places (and skippable with SWs)
I just found out something that had been bugging me for awhile, though unfortunately it's meaningless; the Emerald translator door at GFMC Compound isn't an Emerald door at all, it's a Violet door.  It just looks like an Emerald door.  Too bad we can't say the same for the one at Temple Sanctuary....

lol wzf. even more oddness :p

what's next? light beam not hitting jump guardian? bsj to escape the alpha splinter?

another odd annihilator thing i noticed was that once i beat DS4 with the annihilator and the beam's tip clipped through the ground in the cutscene part where samus lands after jumping.
Sadly, I have no proof. But, when I restarted my (VERY) old game save , just before the final boss. I returned to the Sky Temple Entrance. I Screw Attacked towards the door. I accidently pressed the B button once more, and Samus actually went THROUGH the big thing above the door. It looked EXACTLY like a Secret Room. But it wasn't really useful, because when Samus landed the Screw Attack, she never got up. She just slided forward, on one knee, into the purple haze. I tried it again, but I never got it to work again.

That would be SW42.  See, Retro made the mistake of leaving either morph ball tunnels intact or leaving behind open holes where they once were in certain rooms.  Off the top of my head, Sky Temple Gateway and Staging Area have completely intact tunnels, and Gateway Access (on the STG side) and Hive Dynamo Works have holes in the walls where tunnels on the light side are.  The only thing Retro did to protect these areas was to cover them up and/or turn the tunnels invisible, so you can't see them.

same thing happens on PAL.
in the Torvus temple after you change the birdge in the Forgotten Bridge, go back through Torvus Lagoon and save, immediately afterwords go to the Torvus Temple and there will be a Space Pirate Fight. Scan the Skiff and battle the pirates. then when you have killed off three of the four, ghetto jump on the lasers blocking super missle. turn around and the pirate will be gone.... lok up in the sky and youll see little power beam shots in the distance... the pirate is walking on one of the towers... just fire a shot into the clouds and youll get super missle.
I entered the Abandonned Worksite from the Forgotten Bridge. In the process of screw attacking over to the platform with the morphball tunnel, I actually screw attacked into the tunnel and fell through it... into a bunch of clouds with a sun.

Completely worthless however as I couldn't do anything but turn around and look up... if I tried to morph, I would just fall off screen seemingly infinitely.

Actually, I was pretty annoyed because I hadn't saved for awhile and had lost all my progress since coming to Torvus to collect the Sky Temple Keys.
That would be sw30. I'm going to avoid the temptation to make a tasteless remark regarding Retro's tunnels and screw attacks.

You accidentally entered a secret world. Echoes is rife with them. Most morphball tunnels can be breached with screw attack like you did in AW. There are even places where simply morphing in the right spot will drop you through the floor into the nothingness. (You  do have to set it up.)

There is a list of SWs in the wiki here if you are interested. The Master list <_< can be found at m&s.co.

DJgrenola uses them to great advantage in his world record low% speedruns.

What's with forcing underlining on the links?
yeah, we fine here for underlining links. that'll be $100 per link.

I operate on the assumption all eyes function as well as mine. >.< I also derive great pleasure from demonstrating a deep understanding of very simple tasks (bbcode nesting).

    Blood. Turnip. ;p

Hmm, Spellbound has no problem with "Yoshi348" but flags "nate". n ate is OK though. Just an observation.

Sounds like it's almost as bad as Firefox's spellchecker (dammit, Ff, "spellchecker" IS a word!). Maybe Spellbound recognises so-called "screenname" combinations, that is, words with numbers attached?

It should be, it's a speelchequer extension for Firefox based on the "spellchecker code and user interface from the Mozilla Suite's Composer". Mozilla is consistent it seems.

Right click > Add to dictionary

Also, what's with you using "-ise" over "-ize"?

they can prosecute you under the Patriot Act for that, you know.

Yes, that's naturally what I've been doing since Ff 2's release. It's not as bad anymore, but it always seems like there're new words every day that I need to add.
Such as "Grenchler".

The "s" looks nicer imo ... THAT AND THE FACT THAT I HATE AMERIKKKA!!!!
Nate, Nathanael, Nathanial, Nathaniel, Nathan are in the SpellBound dictionary, as is Yoshi. I don't want to typo gate, hate, mate or bate and have it missed by SpellBound though. ;p

Of course SpellBound is flagged as misspelled but spellbound is not. :)
