Argh he's driving me mad!  I only have one gold credit to get that isn't from defeating  a boss and this is it.  His beams technically should be easy to miss but touch a claw and you take damage - then the beak comes down which I find hard to avoid.

Wouldn't be so bad if it was immediately after a save point.

I take it it makes no difference between normal/veteran/hyper as that's just an issue of damage taken?  Please don't say that it is or I'll top myself having to go back to do it again on normal just for this (I'm on hyper).

Any tips or tricks anyone can offer?
Thread title:
That is a friend voucher not a Gold Credit, the Prima Guide was wrong.
I was reading the Metroid wiki but that was based off the Prima guide by a member.

Well cheers for that but as I'm a completest, just as I scan every single thing even if it's going to get destroyed or whatever, I want to get this voucher!
Go to the first landing site so you don't have to redo so much when you fail. I you ever flash red, even if you health doesn't go down you've failed, the game uses floating points or something to keep track of your health. PRACTICE. I had to do it so many time it's not funny, often to only mistake being  toughing his toes.
Thanks for the tips, well I finally did it.

I just practised lots by not going past his claw when it opens. I got lucky I guess, as when and where he shoots his beam is luck.  He did shoot it in the middle a couple of times but I missed it by the skin of my teeth on one of those.  Never again do I want to do that.

Wish I'd thought of going to the ship at the primary spot as you suggested.

Doing the all-3-levers-without-aerotroopers-pulling-them-back is going to be fun. Rolling Eyes

No it will be easy.
Oh, this is interesting... but you get stuck in the room so what good is that?
I think you only get stuck in there if you try to head towards the other turret backwards. If you head out the way you came in without triggering the fight there's nothing to worry about as far as I understand it.

Yes, that is how it works. Just leave the way you came in and you'll be fine.
I didn't find it that hard to do it the normal way. >_>
Just so it's known, you won't get stuck if you destroy 2 of the fuel cell things, trigger the cutscene that is supposed to make the whole sequence start, then destroy the last cell.

Doing the whole sequence then triggering the start cutscene is what makes you get stuck. It's not useful though, because when you reach the first turret the grapple point won't be there until you start the fight. Besides, it can be skipped..
not evil,just hungry
Just to clarify; does escaping the Ridley morphball tunnel without taking damage give you a voucher, a gold credit, or nothing?

What if I go trough there at some point later in the game?  For instance to grapple the battery with the ship?

Also, as for getting in backwards, can I ask how it's done?

Yes, I thought of that.

Every Bit Counts
To do it backwards, you need to do a getto jump off the morph ball tunnel or bsj onto the ledge. You can look it up on youtube. If you go to that place later in the game, just do it backwards again. You can pull all 3 levers before you trigger the fight. One of them is glitched, and looks like it is already pulled back, but it has a grapple point farther out. Just pull it like normal. Hope this helps.
Thanks, well what I'll do is go backwards and then do all 3 levers to get the voucher and then initiate the fight so that I can blow the tanks, clear the room and get the forcefield unlocked.

LOL, this went from Ridley which I managed on my own to this!

You never know what can happen. :P
Hey, anyone know about the harvester drone?  Apparently using your ship on it earns a voucher but the wiki says on normal/veteran AND hyper but I'm not so sure... I'd have thought it was only once on any difficulty.

An setting an aerotrooper on fire... just attack with the fire/nova beam  enough (then rip apart)?

There's a video response on that, by me.

The cutscene locks all the door.

The Prima Guide say it's a Gold Credit, (The Prima Guide only listed 9 Phazoids and listed the 12 Demo Troopers as a Friend Voucher), I think it only counts once, but I haven't disabled the defence system on my hyper run so I haven't beenable to test it yet.

Yes, I'd recommend you shack the Nunchuck after every Charge shot.
The token/voucher page on the wiki needs to be reworked, because that information is from the Prima Guide, which is supposedly incorrect about some things.

So that's a once only for the harvester then?

There's no "supposedly" about it, it is.
As far as I know, any of the Friend Vouchers are a one shot task. The Gold Tokens related to defeating bosses are collected on Normal/Veteran and then on Hypermode.

So does anybody know the correct setup for what's a Voucher and what's a Token? If you find something that's different from the wiki, could you either update it or post it here so someone else can? It would be a big help.

Yeah, I read the guide and its incorrect about a LOT of stuff. Only one in recent memory besides the tokens/credits stuff is a few Logbook scans, particularly on the Pirate Homeworld, or the Valhalla Incident, which is on the damn Olympus at the start, but says its in the generator room on th Valhalla. >_>

I can say with 100% certainty that you only have to do it once.

By the way, there are 26 friend vouchers, correct? If so, then I have them all, plus I've unlocked everything already. Sadly you have to collect all of the red, blue, and gold tokens in order to unlock everything. It wasn't until after I began hyper mode that I realized I needed to protect all of the demolition troopers to get a gold token. I could only do nine at the most. I restarted on normal anyway, but it could have been very annoying.
