Welp, I was thinking, "I have a PSP, but I can never find good games for it (always sold out #-o ](*,)  ) maybe I should trade in my PSP and get a DS!... or just buy a DS... I only have like 2 PSP games anyway..." Anywho, I need some people's opinions, Is Metroid Prime: Hunters a good enough game to be one of the reasons to buy a DS? :-k

P.S. If this is in the wrong section or something, sorry, I joined a couple days ago... Embarassed

No.  I didn't think it was all that great.
It's a pretty good game, but there's lots of other great DS games as well, such as Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Star Fox Command, Kirby Canvas Curse, Tetris DS, and New Super Mario Brothers.  Also, this topic probably belongs more in the handheld games forum, as it isn't really about Hunters.
Some people like hunters, some people dont, but a ds is definately worth getting for other games.
A DS is definitely worth it, for all the awesome games, but I can't say whether you should trade in your PSP for it (I've never owned one, and don't want one).  I'd say it depends on how long it would take you to get the money for it.

Ready and willing.
Yeah Hunters alone isn't a must have. Without knowing other factors (your current PSP situation and the games you have/like for it, how many other games for the DS you're interested in) I can't really give you a good answer.
Yeah, I think I probably will get one... if i can afford it... #-o
MPH is a good Wifi multiplayer game.  I'd suggest that you buy it if you have a Wireless router.  Single player sucks sadly, I know, I've played it many times over and over.

And if you're not worried about getting a Pink DSlite, try buying it at Target.  If you get a PinkDSl, most of the profit will be used for fighting breast cancer.  Pretty neat.

Pink DSl ftw.

I've had my DSlite for a few months now, and I honestly love it (I have Kirby: Canvas Curse, Hunters, and Sonic Rush -- all awesome games). However, just because I like it doesn't mean that you will. Hunters was a very nice game imo; the controls were top-notch and are probably worth the purchase alone. I've never played the online multiplayer, though, as that's just not my thing.
Hunters was very good, but not the best DS game. For the record, the games I have, in order of favorite to least favorite (although all are good):

New Super Mario Bros.
Mario Karts DS
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Advance Wars: Dual Srike
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time
Sonic Rush
Meteos
Kirby Canvas Curse

Like I said, I've greatly enjoyed them all myself, although of course individual tastes vary.
my personal thought is get a DS. It's my favorite system of all time with metroid megaman ZX and Harvest moon DS and castlevania they are fun enough for it to be worth getting a DS. This is what i think about the DS wub.
Oh yeah, don't sell your PSP, you'll never know when a good game is coming out.  I'm serious, never sell any of your systems cause you'll eventually regret it and want it back later.  Happened to me with my FatDS.  Even though the DSlite and DS are almost the same thing, I still want my DS back.

Mmmmyeah... I don't have wireless internet... I gots DSL... will multiplayer still work?
If you have a wireless router, yes.
You can also get the USB Adapter from Nintendo and just plug it in to your computer, but that'll cost you an extra $30.

Well, if you get a Wii, I don't see why there would be any practical reason to keep your GameCube besides for sentimental reasons.
GBP?  Multiple TVs?

Dunno, just seems that it's unlikely to be that straightforward.
Hunters is a great game, but it's not worth just buying it. It's awesome for demonstrating what the DS is capable of doing, and I bet the multiplayer is fun because of the variety in characters (I've only played against bots, sadly), but it's not worth buying JUST Hunters. It's got very little substance, I feel.

Add Castlevania for platforming goodness and pixel-perfection, and Animal Crossing for something that'll last you at least half a year, and you have a system to be proud of. Also, MP: Pinball if you like Metroid Prime. Best pinball game I've ever played.

I'm planning on buying a WiFi adapter so I can enjoy Hunters online and really get into Animal Crossing. Then there's Star Fox, and MegaMan ZX, and the new Castevania on its way...

Go rightahead. Buy one.
