ZM is the best 2D metroid ever.

It was worth playing

What difficulty did you play on? I got the impression that you have to choose between too easy and too tedious

It's a bit silly but the camera is also kinda turning me off, seems as awkward as playing RE4 with melee weapons

I didn't play on easy and I didn't play on hard.  Just whatever the middle of default was.
oh shit, looks like they put some real effort to make it looks like an actual NES game into this one

YES! Looks great!
and it's not even two weeks away, can't wait to play it
I wondered for a good while why there's no Belmont

When I saw that giant C combined with "of the Moon" my brain just shut down lol

damn i really want to know more about these new pokemon games .... safe to say they're more intriguing than anything we've gotten from that series in a long time

I have an old dream of the Pokémon game to end all Pokémon games, a massive MMO with the ability to battle other players as well as to do things other than just battling mons.  Though I doubt these are gonna approximate that.

that's what a lot of fans have been asking for. maybe the main series game next year will be that.. although i kind of doubt it
Dude you're talking about gamefreak here

I wonder if I just find the whole franchise old and tired at this point. I can't fault Gen 6 for not innovating like I can Gens 3-5, but  it still didn't really hype me up.

Maybe it's because the battle mechanics are just mind-numbing when applied to single-player, being determined there solely by level grinding and Starter-Plowing.
I still have gen 2 queued in my to-play list.

I started with gen 1 (Blue specifically), which I played when it was current.  Lost a save file (I was up to Lavender Town) when my SNES/SGB slipped off the shelf, so I played it again and eventually beat the game.  With a team that would be considered substandard -- fearow, pikachu, graveler, gyarados, kadabra, venusaur -- and at levels 46-52, even!  (Screw grinding in Victory Road.)

So I later picked up Yellow, then Gold and Crystal.  Started playing Yellow, never finished.  Started playing Gold, too, never finished.  This was over 15 years ago but it still feels kinda vaguely recent, somehow.  I tried getting back into Pokémon games a few times, especially after discovering that one mew glitch that actually works, and I even did the glitch, only to eventually put down the game again.  But I did decide on the personal goal of actually filling the pokédex.

A couple years ago I decided to embark on a Crystal run using a hack that let me actually fill the pokédex.  So I started on this...only to lose my save file again.  I'll restart it sometime.  I know want to.

At the current rate, it'll take me another 90 years to get to gen 6, and I'll lose one save file for each gen.  lol

BTW if you're asking "why not HG/SS?", then the answer is "because I prefer GSC's version of the Olivine City theme".  (Also, there's no full-dex hack for HG/SS on RDHN.)

you just have to look at sales. the main series games are still going quite strong. there's a very large core group of fans that loves every gen (me included), so i don't agree with your assessment in general

I maintain no illusions that I'm not very in the minority! I think they'd be crazy not to keep pumping out games with as popular as the franchise is. Just saying I've been pretty jaded about it, good points and all, since around the time they announced B/W.

i do agree they could do so much more with the games, but i also am happy with basically the same thing every few years, but with new pokemon

that's why i'm glad to see they're doing at least something different with the let's go games
red chamber dream
they need to go a lot farther though.. i thought gen 7 was a start but only a start

That was pretty much my feeling on Gen 6: "It's a start."

But really my genre interests have shifted since I first played Pokemon too. If I were super into the new 'mon designs every time and/or bothered to get good at the community/competitive aspect, I'd enjoy it more.

fair enough

There's at least two tracks in this game.  One for the paper route, one for the bonus race at the end.

Is this an incomplete rip of just the paper route track, I guess?

Hope they didn't forget to wash all the bubonic plague off of their hands.  yuk!

When I was a kid we used to trap and shoot armadillos because they dug up our vegetables.  They're cute but also disease ridden.  We'd be careful never to touch them.
Finally! A Ridley amiibo for my desk!
