I like turtles.
The reason I still consider OoE as "recent" is for similar reasons. Nothing after that left any sort of favorable impression, if it left any at all. HD might've been cool if I had ever played with anyone.
I might've borderline fallen out of video games if it wasn't for Souls afterwards, so I can only imagine how hard it must've been on you :P
I like turtles.
Actually I didn't play any of the IGAvanias until years after the fact. Roommate in college introduced me to the series with OoE and SotN. I was like "I can't wait to try some of the more recent ones" and he was like "yeeeeahhh... about that..."

But 2008 was, I think, when I was in the middle of discovering Metroid games for the first time.

Well my New 2DS XL fell out of my pocket and some of the outer casing cracked >.>. Is that something you can set up a repair for?
you'd best ask nintendo support
I don't think I even knew N2DSXLs existed

Are they more cheaply made in general?

I believe so. The plastic feels kinda cheap

i use one as my main 3ds. yeah it's definitely cheaper quality, i like the new 3ds a lot more. but mine's screen broke ;(
That's too bad, I never use 3D so a thinner model would've been something to consider

It almost seems designed to look cheaply made as a selling point lol

I ordered it and then they announced the samus editon new 3ds like 2 days later. So yeah that pissed me off >.>

it's not like it's bad. i'd say it's just as sturdy as the new 3ds (which isn't very sturdy at all). i love my 2ds xl

I want the poke ball version owo
oh shit, a PC version, nobody saw that coming

https://www.dragonquest.com/xi/en-gb/

guess I won't have to waste money on a console after all
I'd like to go back 10 years and tell myself

"So Konami is gonna kill off all their franchises and then it gets worse - they revive them"
I like turtles.
It was not by their hand that they were once again given flesh.
Is that reused Kojima artwork or is she on board? Is that even Kojima? I'm not sure

Aren't the Touhou games on steam? That's a Japanese dev
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Bigger Japanese devs have only started coming around to the PC market in recent years. Like, when Dark Souls came to PC it was literally the first time From had tried to develop for the platform. Bayonetta made it to PC just last year. Monster Hunter World's PC release was delayed because that ddev team has no experience with PC development and apparently wants to not fuck it up. Japan's games market was console or mobile and that's it for a long time.

yeah dark souls was what was caused a major sea change. there were some japanese games on steam before 2012 but not much at all

and it's really only been since 2017 that most japanese devs have been on board
Kinda interested in the new God of War, but even though it seems like a different kind of game the combat looks just as tedious as ever
It was worth playing
