rotfl i just watched that earlier, so great
One shall stand, one shall ball.
The apparent crash at the end is what makes it really special. The game knew there was no topping the t-pose teleport sequence and just stopped.

That's such a silly reason to hate on the game. Not like the voice acting fort this matters much :/

It wasn't hate on the game, it was hating on the producers. People didn't like the way they were announcing it so publicly and being proud that they kicked out JonTron. People were upset because they were promoting their political views not only in their game but also in their PR.

It's still a "literally who cares" situation, but  the company were still pretty shitty about it. Especially cause it wasn't like JonTron was volunteering, he literally payed to be a voice actor in their kickstarter.

i don't think the company was shitty about it. this is pretty standard practice. teenagers on the internet are just stupid.
I like turtles.
They're allowed to hire and fire whoever they want of course, but it seems really dumb and overblown to do it over someone's social media statements that have no effect on the quality of the work. Where I would personally draw the line is in a situation like what just happened with X-Men Gold where the artist actually and literally inserted antisemitic views on the page.

It's pretty standard to advertise the fact they got rid of someone because of their political views? I've never really heard about it before except in extreme cases. It's pretty easy to be biased in the situation though if you agree or disagree with either person's political views and also plan on loving their game, or hating it.

I think the difference in this case is the fact that he wasn't hired, but literally paid them to contribute a few voice lines in it. They were cashing in on the fact that JonTron was in the news regarding his political stances so they decided to advertise the fact they got rid of him because, hey guys! Look at us! We don't like big bad meanies!

I just love how everyone is acting retarded about it all lol
I think it's standard for a company to publicly distance themselves from controversy.  They want people to know that they don't want to be associated with it.

Yes. Public figures get fired all the time for just that, and the company always makes it known. For example Monday Night Football had an opening song by Hank Williams Jr for years, it was iconic, and even people like me that hate sports broadcasts being padded out with inane shit like theme songs considered it acceptable because it was just the thing they did. It outlasted commentators, it made the jump from ABC to ESPN.

Then that dumb motherfucker went and compared Obama to Hitler one day and the theme song got dropped immediately and ESPN followed it with a statement distancing themselves from him. It's business. A person that represents your company or product in some way goes off and starts rattling off white nationalist idiocy you drop them hard and take about ten steps away from them because it poses a risk to your potential sales.

Jontron's role was used to publicize the game so the second him going off with his bullshit forced the company's hand as well as revealed him to be the utter waste of space we all suspect any given Youtuber to be. Don't collaborate Youtubers.

yeah this kind of thing literally happens all the time and has for hundreds of years

like i said, teenagers on the internet just don't understand how society works. i bet no one over 30 is complaining about this
Club 27 Goals
Probably cause nobody over 30 is going to play it, zing!
One shall stand, one shall ball.
True, only nostalgia blinded people in their mid-late 20s and children who don't know any better are playing that trash.
red chamber dream
hard to argue with that :D :D

Took Sega years, but they finally found their audience.

they're not exactly unknown anymore
One shall stand, one shall ball.
At long last my OC offspring of Shadow the Hedgehog and Charmy the Bee can be the hero Sonic told him he'd be with his dying breath.

that was... actually a pretty good trailer lol

I'm unironically preordering Sonic Forces though, I want to play it before the internet tears it apart too quickly
red chamber dream
lol. lol. lol. literally what everyone says about every new sonic game

and they're all garbage!
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Surely this time will be different!
Club 27 Goals
Sonic games being garbage are a special kind of garbage though. It's more than just bugs, weird clipping, and head-scartching design choices. Not sure what it is about it but I love it.
red chamber dream
well hey i only like two sonic games and they were both on dreamcast, so i am out of touch with the sonic community

they are a special breed of crazy
