I think it just goes back to what I said in the beginning. It's easy to become jaded about it all when you see someone do something at a con or other event, and they practically get a standing ovation from casual players, when it's something that isn't really that impressive to people in the know. Now if you'll excuse me, I see a cloud that needs to be yelled at.

The chances of beating a record at an event are slim at best, so it's not really the same issue

Also I hold the record for beating Breath of the Wild while sitting inside my living room

GDQ made speedrunning hot so now most people that talk about it aren't speedrunners

I went to the speedrun reddit once to find GDQ VODs and it was just people bickering about who's the better runner and which category is the real category

I heard that he was supposed to do some voice acting in the game and they decided not to let him do it after videos of him saying controversial things about immigration surfaced. Some people are screaming about how the company is being PC and bowing to the SJW's, but I think they're just like any other for-profit venture in that they don't want to be associated with controversy as it could hurt sales.

People are extremely dumb. I get really stressed out when I see online just how many people there are out there who believe the most nonsensical conspiracy theories. It's like people are living in some kind of alternative reality. I don't understand what methods these people use when reaching a conclusion because I don't know any other method than those based on reason, logic, aka critical thinking. Do they just believe these things because someone told them? How do they just latch onto something without questioning it first? HOW?!

I don't have a flawless mind but my god I just don't get how anyone can believe incredible things without incredible evidence to back it up.
