Right I have been planing to give this out for a long time. I did not mainly since I was to lazy to mash them up and make a patch.
Right, So this is a mix of the fusion and zero mission CRE.gfx I did make. I did take the stuff I did like most and mashed them in.

Why is it a patch and not a .gfx?  Since you have to make a few changes in the GFX editor. And with a patch you don't.

I don't mind if you don't credit me for this. But I don't want any one to claim they made it them self. Some stuff are rips. But some stuff here is custom to look in the same type.

I will go on and release a few _001.gfx later.

EP: please add this patch to the hack list! >;D

Any questions and feed back in this topic! :P
(I may take GFX requests if I see that more then one have use for them)

NOTE: patch is for unheadered ROM [JU]

Edit: seams it was for unheadered. Simple mistake from my side, Sorry!

Wrong. This is for unheadered.

Edit: Otherwise, it's really good for a start. I hope you release the full version.
I had a quick look, this looks pretty nice.  I think an accompanying .txt or description of what tiles you've changed would be helpful though.  Oh, and I think I've come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the rom I've been using; this only worked as unheadered for me.

Thank you! ^o^
Also a txt is not really needed. The CRE GFX is basically the GFX that is loaded in all areas.

Sorry for the bump, but how's this: You patch the full GFX patch and Kejardon's Control Freak together, that would be the best GBA-ish experience to go for SM.
Are the gray doors supposed to have an orange border?

Uh, No.
They are supposed to have a dark blue outline.

If it have a orange border it is set to use palllet line 1, instead of 0.
But the patch should have set gray doors to use pallet line 0. :/

Here's the problem I'm having:  They gray doors use the correct palette line in the unheadered game that is a direct patch from your ips.  I exported and imported the .gfx and now it is using different palette lines instead of the ones it is supposed to.  This is only happening with gray doors and it isn't just the border color either, some of the other colors are different too.  I haven't done anything with .gfx before did I make a mistake somewhere?

Maybe this is the issue you mentioned in the first post of not putting up a .gfx?  I didn't know what you meant.

oh, yeah that is it.
Basically. The gray doors are set to use pallet line "1" normally. But with the new GFX, the correct pallet is pallet line "0" This can easy be fixed in the GFX editor. Also, If you did import the GFX to a clean room then you will also have to line up the  Gray door GFX since, I did use more GFX then normally. (there was free space) So you will have to edit the GFX the gray door tiles use. To get the right animation. :P

Easier to just use the patch I made for this, imo! :P

hi
just tried the patch
its really good. alot better then the normal SM gfx  :D
Not that I've played any GBA version of Metroid but...  When I patched it to my SM Rom - all the areas that are usually black are now invisible.  :-?

Also, in snes9x 1.51 all of the emulators on-screen text is yellow.  Is that bad?  I mean, other than the error checksome thing that goes by too quick for me to read all of it...  :P

Hm... when I applied the patch to my hack to check it out, it gave tileset 1 a screwy pallet it seems... ie many different colors are the same, making most tiles look solid bluish.
The new CRE tiles look pretty good, though.

Problem 1: I have no idea what this is. :/
Problem 2: If it is only the emulator text, It is not a problem. It should load text pallet from rom I think.

Problem 1: It would be nice if you could take a screen shot from smile so I can look into it. It should not happen though. :/

How ever. This patch is for clean roms not hacks. :/
Eh, it'd take me awhile to make a screenshot...
It's likely just caused by the the fact that I already change the pallet if it's not happening to anyone else. Doing multiple patches where more than one affects the same part of the ROM can do unexpected things sometimes, I guess.

If it says "Bad Checksum", the emulator knows it's altered. But don't worry, everything else should work fine, despite the yellow text. White text means it's OK, cyan means it's interleaved (like Chrono Trigger, perhaps), red means the ROM's fucked up.
Thanks!  :)

@me: Checksome, checksum...  laugh new

Grey doors look just plain wrong. Also see pics, the bottom one is this patch; it sems to apply to all black backgrounds

Do'h!  ](*,)

I figured out the problem. Just a tile I did randomly over write with out looking.
Any way, I fixed it with this new patch and a few other stuff.
I also edited the patch in the first post to the most recent one.

P.J: Why do the gray doors look wrong? I did try to go for the fusion style. D:

Hi i'm new and a big Metroid-Fan!

So i have test this hack an i find it very good! Because i can play the classic game with a new style.

Only a question:
Why did the Station-Stage skyp with this hack, when that are only gfx changes?

sorry for my english

Oh no. Since this hack was made for hackers to use as a base hack and not for playing. I did remove the intro.
Why? Easier and faster to beta test with out it. And you can easly add it in again with a button press in SMILE.
thanks for the Info, but i can't find the menu to enable the Intro  :/

Is it to much to ask if you can post the ips twice one time with an one without the intro?

will you make other changes on the GFX in the next time?

good luck!

It doesn't match with the zero mission styled doors. And if you're going to have a grey fusion door, it should be the actual one used (see pic), not some orange one

Edit - Special - Game Behavior, scroll right and then scroll back left (little SMILE glitch)
