Green-Kirby, ROAR!
It's a fan game I found while looking around on youtube.
It's made for GBA, in other words you need to play it in a GBA emulator or on flash card.

You need to note that the game is "done" but it's not very big.

Official web page: http://www.cs.rit.edu/~tjh8300/Orn/

Video that shows almost the entire game:
- Video was removed so, yeah. -

What you should note is that the game takes level design from metroid but there is more to the engine.

If you ask me, this game kicks ass!

This looks great!  I'll have to try it later though.
It's times like this I hate my DS flash card for not being able to play GBA roms.
Destroyer of Pirates
Its a very good homebrew, i been waiting for something like this for quite a while, good job on finding this.  Very Happy

Is there an actual ending? I have found everything shown in the video plus one e-tank.
Now matter how I configure my joypad I can't activate missiles.  Lame.

This might be because the missiles are used like the ones in fusion/zero mission you have to hold the button while firing.
I think it uses the R button on the GBA.
Armor Guardian
Man that music is sick.

Thanks.

I found 5 ET's and 4 Missiles, 'bombs', spring ball, screw attack, and varia and it looks like that's where it ends.  Cool game, too bad it looks like it was abandoned several years ago.  Hopefully someone revives the project.  Music was great.
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
I saw this video about a month ago, but I never downloaded the game. I never liked the original Metroid too much, or zero mission. It just seemed too easy to find everything. Like, you start, go 10 steps left, and get the morphball, go another 20 steps right, and get missiles.

Did you play any further once you got missiles?
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
I only played up till just after Long Beam, then I gave up. As much as I love Metroid, I just don't like the layout of the original, or the music. SMs music was so deep and mysterious, Zero's and I's are like all *happy happy dancing lalala* music in comparison. I just don't get the joy out of it that I do from playing SM or Fusion or the Prime games.

For some reason, that video has been removed.

I presume because of the stuff ripped from the Metroid games, or possibly the music.

I found 6 ET, screw attack, spring ball, and gotten 15 missiles. No bosses in this game?
Loved the music
No bosses. The game was meant to demonstrate the author's ability to create working game logic and assets (graphics, music, sound effects), not to be a complete game. That would have taken a great deal longer without demonstrating any extra breadth of skill on the author's part.
Well worth playing, if for no reason other than to marvel at the animation of the main character. The author definitely knows what metroid is all about, as I truly felt as if I were exploring zebes for the first time.
