Ok boys and girls, its time now to pick the species of the Space Pirate confederation that gives you the chills! Come along, pick your favorite and post why!

My pick would have to be the elites and Omega. They've got the weapons, the gear, and almost the skills. All the rest are just normal enemies.

Omega/Elite. They actually don't die very fast. Combat-wise I mean, not life-span.

I took an elite out with three supers.  And without being hit.  They're pretty easy.

Yeah, but what if there were 5 or 6 Elites in the same room instead of 5 or 6 normal pirates. That would be a tad more difficult.

I'd just like to point out that Kihunters are only Space Pirates in the same sense that Kraid, Ridley, and Mother Brain are; i.e. they're called that because they're part of the Space Pirate forces rather than the actual Space Pirate race.

The Normal and Beam Pirates (MP) for me, they have an incredible AI.
(Un)fortunately Samus Weapon Systems too (e. g. charged Wave Beam)

how are kihunters space pirates at all in any way?  I just thought they were a life form indigenous to zebes.

Anyway, I just prefer the normal variety myself, they have style.

The first time I went through Zero Mission, every single time I set off the alarm in Chozodia scared the hell out of me.  And I still respect and fear the Black Pirates...  Except the lst two with that cheese...

The manual says that they're space pirates, and that they came to Zebes from somewhere else.  In addition, it says that they were the ones mainly responsible for building the new Tourian.

Regular Pirates for me

After playing Zero Mission and having the red buggers chase me through the ship running around in circles AND PLOTTING TOGETHER TO CUT MY ESCAPES OFF!!!! I mean come on! One pirate goes one way, the other goes another and they attack at the same time totally cutting my escape off!!!!

Also They shoot each other and then they go BOOOM!

Killing the Red Pirates gave me the most satisfaction out of slaying Pirates EVER! Just so satisfying to blast them into tiny bits after chasing me around

Omega kicks all the other ones asses. Elites suck, but they were the same option, so I got stuck with voting for them.

yeah, kihunters must make a return soon. BTW, anyone notice a frightening similarity between Fusion's dachoras and Super's kihunters? I wonder if those overgrown ostriches have some ulterior motives...  :D

They are those bee-looking things that come out of those cacoons in Fusion. Don't have a picture, but if you've seen Nate's run, you'll know. (Especially if you read the commentary  Laughing )

I don't feel that Kihunters are real pirates.

They don't look it, but they are pirates (albeit a different group) according to SM's manual.

Alright, thats what i thought.

Weren't those things in Fusion?

I never took them as more than native zebe lifeforms... still a bit hard to swallow that theyre anything more than a giant bug with acid sacks instead of eyes.... odd.
