Fastest Path

Just wondering what the fastest path is in the game. I wanna get under 2 hours, and possibly under 1 hour (though I doubt it). So could someone give me a brief summary. I probably won't follow it exactly, e.g. I might pick up the Screw Attack or something. So thanks.

Are you referring to a 100% run of any% run?

Hmm... I'm assuming by that you're asking about an any% run. IIRC, current runs skip the Long Beam, get the Power Grip, Ice Beam, fall down the chute, skip Imago and get other supers, beat up Ridely, get high jump on the way back up go to Kraid, beat up Kraid (and net the Speed Booster), then head to Tourain. If you can, you could check the current record run; I haven't heard of any new route developments since that one.

Okay, go continue till bombs, then get Varia, then do Kraid, then straight through the rest.

Here's my speedy low-percent path:
Morph Ball --> Missiles --> Bombs --> Power Grip --> Ice Beam --> Cocoon --> Super Missiles (NOT Imago) --> Ridley --> Screw Attack --> Zip Lines --> Acid Worm --> Kraid --> Mother Brain --> Power Suit --> Mecha-Ridley

That's weird. You do the zip lines and Acid worm? I find the Speed boost very useful. I find several places I can use it, like running back through the glass tube and sparking up the shaft, the two evacuations, the Rio Room, the shaft before Rio room, going back and forth through Brinstar/Norfair, the runway after Ridley to the ball shooter straight to Screw Attack, the huge room on the right side of the elevator room in Norfair, and a couple places in Ridley.
