How exactly does this skip work? I've been trying it and randomly getting success and randomly not... often on attempts that appear fucking IDENTICAL. What's the rub?
uhh, since when does dynamo access have an elite pirate skip?
Since a long time ago, I first read it on m2k2 in like 2006. You can boost by the elite pirate 0.000000000000002% of the time and save a fair bit of time in a run
If you can't jump out of the instant unmorph, then you aren't unmorphing early enough. You have to do the jump within 22 frames after you go airborne (since that's when Samus's state in memory changes).
I'll try, I haven't had much luck with it lately though
You said that you've done it recently though...
Are you sure you didn't just do this while not having plasma beam because that's the trigger for having the pirate break out. Also I did a bit of searching and couldn't find anything on this.

!!!!!! I think that might be it, I'll do some more work on it but I was wondering why I so vividly remembered skipping the pirate and nobody else did.
Well shit, and here I was thinking we might have a break on our hands...
I do remember discussion on this topic though, back when Radix actually ran the game. People were claiming that skippiing the pirate might be possible, but Radix came in with an explanation of why it couldn't happen. I don't recall exactly what he said though.
