Has this ever happened to you? I'm not bothered because i had saved before.

I escaped from a room of enemies, with barely any life, only to be killed when walking out the door. grin new

vid please?
sorry, it won't do it again, i'm thinking it was a one time glitch, i didn't notice the glitches topic. :(
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It seems to me that you ran into an enemy who was inside the door... It seems unlikely that they would program murderous doors into the game.
Maybe, but still, don't you think it's a bit weird for an enemy to be in a doorway in a metroid game? :|

Not really. I did that in one off my hacks. :)

In metroid how ever it has happened to me that monsters get stuck in doors if you open it and the monster fly in and it close.
Ok then, i didn't mind since i saved, but it would have gotten me frustrated if i hadn't saved since i had beaten Kraid and found a load of power ups.

lol. Way to not answer his question at all.
You don't answer my question either, though. :|

Anyway, sorry i can't give actual footage.
Creatures keep moving during door transitions in metroid (which really sucks), so it was probably one of those flying things that hit you as you went through the door.

He actually did. "No, I really do not think it strange."

...saved, huh? I call cheat. :^P

But as everyone else says, you probably got hit inside the door before transitioning. That happens a lot. I think it happens in SM, too.
As much as I dislike saying it, M1 was kind of a mess of glitches and somewhat unfair design, ( the all too common enemy moving through a door or starting near it so you get hit as son as the room is displayed, starting off with almost no energy, the shaft in Brinstar that you can't get out of with normal gameplay. ) though I still liked it on sight when i first say someone playing it. which is why I bought Fusion years later. If it weren't for the fact that the game is dripping with potential, w wouldn't be on this forum.

Now that I think on it more, enemies moving through door seems glitchy, but it adds more realisim than any glitch I've ever seen.

Hey, now, enemies moving with you through doors is what makes a no-boss run possible! Fair trade, if you ask me :)
I hate to pull out the "that's not how real life works" card, but enemies moving during door transitions is something I've always loved about Metroid I. In most games, if you get to a door you're somehow magically saved from any bad situation you might have been in; but if enemies can actually follow you through doors, it makes the maps seem really connected to each other, as opposed to a series of essentially separate areas. I find it helps with suspension of belief.

Besides that, it adds to the gameplay in Metroid I - in Kraid's place, you've always got to either freeze the little flying dudes, or wait in front of the door for them and then go morph ball before heading through. So awesome.

Plus, there's the aforementioned boss-less exploit.

It's usually freaking cheap, though.
It happens to me quite often in Super Metroid.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Yes, everyone, please write to your congressman and demand that more video games about future space bounty hunters killing flying life-sucking jellyfish include more elements of realism that compromise fair and fun gameplay.

Implicit in your statement is that fair and fun are always synonymous.
