I post this announcement so there wont be any confusion if this situation would occur:

We (the forum management) will from now on delete bumpings, and the topic will go back to its previous state. The bumper will probably receive a warning-PM. I advise you not to reply with mini-modding for several reasons, one is because it's against the rules, but also because it can create confusion. However, if a moderator is late and if a conversation regarding the actual topic takes shape again, it'll be left alone.

I'm guessing that mini-modding thing is because of me.  Sorry.  >.>

EDIT:  Btw, you spelt management wrong.

Nah, I know I've done some too. Sorry from here as well. I'll try not to do it anymore.
Ummm....what's mini-modding?
soaking through
Someone who's not a mod telling someone off/pointing out a rules violation.  I suggest you read the rules before posting, seeing as that itself is a rule.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Go team!
- You're late?

Are bumping and gravedigging the same thing? They are both against the rules in all forums, but if not what's the difference?

Ready and willing.
Thank God that was a valid bump, otherwise we'd have a major irony problem on our hands.

And yes, bumping = gravedigging.
Too many fangirls to count
There has been worse irony, anyways.  Rolling Eyes
Are you making fun of my blank post? Evil or Very Mad

I didn't say that.

Thank you for sharing your infinite forum wisdom.
What the heck is gravedigging? Embarassed

Read the topic...it's the exact same thing as bumping.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I always considered gravedigging bumping really old topics, while bumping was just old topics.

Yeah, but it's all the same to me.

Bump!
everybody knows it's true
Bomping a topic that has been replied to 67 minutes ago doesn't qualify as a bump.
I would, but I'll probably get in trouble.

Wait, I know!

...Bonk! Laughing

OK, that wasn't really as much fun as I would've hoped. But I have another question. If gravedigging isn't allowed, why aren't all older topics just locked to prevent it?
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
If what is posted is very relavent/important to the topic, then it's usually ok.  If it's just a random post, then it isn't.

Like say the 21% MP topic wasn't replied to for a year, then someone stopped and posted the solution to Geo Core next year, that would be ok.  I think that's why, or the mods are lazy.
That would make sense...I guess everyone's lazy to a certain extent.

Going through and locking all the old topics would be a waste of time. They can just sit how they are, and plus, if someone has something relevant to post, they can bump it.
Fair enough. I guess locking is just reserved for useless topics rather than old ones. I know one site that actually had a topic showing all the topics they locked for being useless, to enforce the rules on making topics. It was quite handy.

IIRC, there is a phpBB mod that will automatically lock all threads older than X days.  I wouldn't advise getting anything like that, however, because it doesn't leave much room for moderator discression.  It could ultimately wind up hurting topics such as the aforementioned 21% topic.  If anyone wants to contribute information on that topic in the future, and it were locked, odds are they'd end up creating a whole new thread.  When valuable information ends up getting split into several different threads it could wind up making things more disorganized.

Then you'll always get the group that I like to call "Ikonbumpers"*, who will continually bump a thread to prevent it from being locked by the mod.

*I derived the term from an old Ikonboard that I used to visit (Introversion software's, to be precise -- they have since switched to phpBB).  Ikonboard didn't support sticky threads (it still might not support them; I'm not really sure) so users would continually bump threads to keep them on top.  It was really REALLY annoying for everyone involved.
