I, for one, haven't and don't plan on starting a wiki for any other metroid games besides those three but I would be happy to help if anybody made one.
would be nice if i had permission to edit. username is kirbymastah

There's a chunk of typos/things that I think could be worded better overall on the main page
You can edit correct? Next to each heading should be an edit button
The main page is protected. Only you can edit it atm afaik

Ya i can't edit the main page either. I've been editing the crap out of a lot of others though haha
Don't make stupid edits. Like I remember you added "curse these smart phone keyboards."

Also I'll un protect it

I had a whole page written on my phone, and it wouldn't let me post for some reason or another ... that sucked

When writing paragraphs, be sure to separate ideas with paragraphing. Personally, a wall of text is unappealing. We want to make people want to learn :).

Edit: creXALBO plz...landing site dash IS NOT the same thing as space jump first.

if someone adds wrong information, just edit it to make it correct. that's how wikis work.

I'm telling them to prevent any further accidents.

EDIT: PLEASE READ IF YOU PLAN TO EDIT.

I want all sequence breaks to be put in a specific format:

Difficulty [1-10; 10 being hardest]
Prerequisites
How-to
(Insert Videos and/or Pictures)

loving low%
We should make a difficulty level AVERAGE because it is so subjective i.e. 7+4+5=16/3 (--> 5.3333...) --> 5.5 stars or whatever, rated by 3 users. Otherwise it doesn't make too much sense tbh. It's a nice idea though!

Also for Bomb Jumps (or for whatever trick) you could THEN provide a similar bomb jump/ whatever trick with a similar rated (average) difficulty level, so people can judge by comparison to tricks they have already pulled off, how long this is probably gonna take them. Just an idea.

Another idea would be for the really hard to learn tricks how long it took people to learn those for the first time. 22% Vent Shaft took many people a long time to learn, including me (several hours). But now I can do it consistently in less than a minute or even first 5 tries or so. Same for many other very hard to learn tricks. So I guess there should be a distinction between how long a trick took you to learn and how consistently you can make it now; because what exactly IS difficulty of a trick?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I don't see much point in assigning numerical or star values to a trick's difficulty. It's totally arbitrary. Just note tricky or slightly random parts or whatever in a description. It would be more useful to the reader than a number will ever be.

What does a difficulty of "7" even mean when you get down to it?
I agree with tomatobob, actually. Skipping the hive mecha, for example, you must bend the dash forward (assuming you are doing the latest method).

Also, on the space jump first page, I want to include...Sick...space jump first left.
Alright, I'm gonna put in a lot of work tonight. I'm going to make videos for any list of tricks you guys put down. I'm already doing the obvious (sjf, hive mecha skip..) and I might do early wild. I'll also start on IBBF.
Sorry for triple posting since apparently that is looked down on. But edits don't send notifications. Just letting you guys know that I'm caught up in stuff right now and don't have the time I need to work on the wiki. It's not dead.

It's fine as long as it's some reasonable update. Just use common sense; don't make 3 posts in a row in the same day on the same thread but if it's some kind of update after some days or something it's fine.
there's no policy against it, but if your post is the last in the thread and you edit it, it will mark the thread as unread. so really you can just edit your last post unless you think it warrants a new post.
I think it warranted a post.

you may have a point that edits don't send notifications though. i can't remember if they do.
Update: WIKI IS STILL NOT DEAD.
I just don't have time to sit down and really work on it. Others feel free to work on it though. http://metroidspeed.wikia.com/wiki/Metroidspeedrunning_Wiki
Ok sorry for trying to revive a dead topic, but I've started working on the Wiki again! Any help would be appreciated. Whatever you think could be worded better / etc. All help welcome!
I literally have like 2gb of tricks in Metroid Prime that i recorded when I tried to re-record m3m3's videos on my own back in 2008
It would be nice if the videos were a crisp 480p. So if some of those are "bad" quality, it would behoove you to redo them. (Preferably no face cam)
