I'm on the troopers escort without hazard shield (damn hard to keep them alive on hyper mode, but I need the token) and just remembered there was a fight with a metroid hatcher. I don't remember well where was it located but I think it was behind a hyper missile creature. The thing is I always get my hypermode reverted whenever I try to blast the door thanks to acid rain. My question is, can I fight the metroid hatcher without hazard shield?
Thread title:
From what I remember, that is the only path into the room with the Hatcher, because the other way is blocked until you come at it normally. So unless you do grab the Hazard Shield I don't think you can get to it. I may be wrong, becasue that's an area of the game that I have had little experience with once I found out you can bypass it.
If you're fast enough you can try Screw Attacking to the Hyper Missile creature, and then 2BSJ+Screw Attack over him. Not sure if it's possible without Hazard Shield though since you'd probably die from the acid rain before reaching the safe spot.
Just wondering, why are you making the troopers token so hard? You can just get it on normal... or you can at least get it without self-imposed restrictions <_< >_>
not evil,just hungry
The game automatically gives you Hazard Suit after you beat the Pirate Homeworld seed without the percent increase.  You could go back and open the door after the seed.
Anywhere, everywhere
Does it actually give it to you or is just visually there?

In Metroid Prime, if you get the spider ball while only in the power suit, you get the "gravity suit morph ball" but no gravity suit, so I think the same applies here.
Every Bit Counts
It actually gives you it. Both phiscally and visually. I myself can confirm.

Yeah I just noticed how the game automatically gave me the hazard shield...damn =(

And it does give you full effect, you even see it on your equipped items.
You know, people have been wondering why that happens.

I think the game gives you the Hazard Shield because it isn't programmed to have a PED with that much corruption, so the game automatically gives you the Hazard Shield when you hit 75% (Corruption, that is).

But look at my example in prime. power spider has no model, so it gives you gravity spider, but gravity still doesn't work. I wonder why it works here but not there?

Mabey Retro knew we could skip hazard, and made this an added bonus. :P Not really. But it does make one wonder. :-k
OH ****!!!!
I sure they probally knew that like they do in all other Metroid games.

I wanted to use a very corrupted samus with normal shoulders but I guess I can't help it >_>

However I believe that they knew we were going to skip hazard shield, afterall the acid rain parts aren't that dangerous.
OH ****!!!!
Yeah the hazard shield doesn't look that exicting to be honest.

Well, if you stay out of the rain anyway. Skyway Access can still be tough due to the cutscenes if you are unlucky upon coming back from them and getting shot by the enemy right afterwards.
Actually, you can make it to the to the hyper missile creature without the 2BJ+screw attack. There are some safe spots before the green thing, but I'm not sure exactly where they are.I think they're by walls.I don't think it is possible to destroy it anyways thanks to the acid rain :(
