If you're looking for a way to sharpen your skills while staying offline, playing against bots is a pretty decent option, i've found. Basically, why i'm posting is the AI is pretty darn decent. Even on the lowest setting, they aren't too dumb, and they play all modes equally well. The hardest setting should give you a good challenge. For a relatively hidden feature of the game, they did a pretty good job with it. anyone else tried it much?
Thread title:
I tried it once and I went up against a level 1 Kanden and it was harder than a lot of the people I play against on wifi! He was even harder than Gorea! >_< I'll try again sometime. Maybe I've gotten better. Or maybe I was just playing on the wrong arena using the wrong person battling the wrong opponent. :p
I go on it frequently. I just use it to prepare myself for Wi-Fi!
I really only play botmatches now to test out levels I've not been to before. Otherwise, I play wifi or single player.

I do however, think that the one star bots would be better than many of my random matching opponents. Some online players barely strafe, jump, etc...

How tough are *** bots?

three star bots are pretty godly (though not impossible)
It has bots Shocked I just have to get it!!!
Bots are only for Mutli-Card play, not Single Card or Online.

Three Star bots are incredibly good.
Lol i did two againts one match against 3 star Trace bots..there alt form owns me.
But as time goes by, 3 star CPUs are gonna be as easy as level 9's are in SSBM nowadays!  :o

You obviously have never dealt with many FPS sims.

In general, the highest level of an FPS's AI nears perfection.  It's nothing at all like SSBM.
red chamber dream
True, but they're still most likely going to get much easier as players get more experienced/used to the controls.

No matter how may times I play bots on godlike in UT2004, they dont get any easier, lol.  (They dont get a lot smarter, just a lot more accurate and aggressive).

lol, you're right. The only FPS I've played are MP1 and 2. But either way I didn't really mean it that seriously. :p

Not that being as good as an SSBM Level 9 is anything serious.  Those mothers suck.

I managed to get a "Godlike" killing spree once in all of the time i've played UT2004.

What is that?  I know it's 20+ kills without dieing.

But, yeah, those "godlike" bots tend to do the same thing against you.  Crying or Very sad

How do you start a Botmatch?

Go to multi cart mode or whatever its called. (it's the middle choice on the multiplayer menu) and after you pick the hunter you want, tap the button "Add Bot" and then the you're set.

Really, really, REALLY hard. I have beaten one though. But fighting 3 level *** bots would be suicide. Shocked

I like using Trace to cloak myself in the ring while playing Defender mode, then, after some fighting, watching the lone person in the ring with me shooting blindly all over the place until he finds me.
lol i won againts a level three bot.
Yeah this mode is awesome. Like counter strike, just with Metroid charas.  Shocked insane!
