I'll just post what I've done so far (well this past hour)

1st segment: I had a few little messups, probably from such a long break from the game. Things like miss-timed jumps. Not too many to be worried about. Until I got to the eye-door. He shot 5 times before he died. I fought the boss and he rolled once. Not what I wanted either. A semi-good core-X fight. Going back to Nav. though was Sessy. I had a big screw up going up the room after Nav. (and accidental wall jump, then a jump-and-missed platform grab). I decided not to save in Sector 1. I felt if I could Sess out this sector I would keep the segment.

Well, I pretty much did. I even got a no-shot boss door too. Only hit 2 or 3 enemies. I didn't get the quick atmospheric kill that I wanted. (For those of you who want to know, you jump into the stabilizer to get hit and therefor becoming invicible for a bit. Jump back into it and shoot a fully charged shot where the flare and the two shots hit. This will kill it in one shot. I have it in my 100% speed run recorded for VBA for reference.)

Saved in Sector 2: 0:07

Segment 2: This was fairly good. I got hit about twice, but only cost about a second. Majorly screwed up some wall jumps near the boss room. Cost 2 or 3 seconds. But meh.

Saved before boss: 0:09

(I might redo ^)

Edit: ^ = redid. Couple seconds better.
very cool. will be fun to watch you pwn srx to mitigate your intro. keep it up.
1st post here. Yay!  :D

Anyways, here's a couple runs that I did in the past couple of weeks.

#1-  1:20, 1%

God was this challenging.  Well, it wasn't too hard up til I had to face Yakuza.  That boss gave me such a hard time (Took me... 6 or 7 tries to beat him).  Nettori was easy.  Then when I got to Nightmare... I about went insane on this freak.  I could get past the first two phases ok, but once he started flying around the room, that's when I would get killed.  Don't know how many tries it took me exactly, but I would estimate it took me around 20-30 tries til I killed him.  And what a celebration that was!  I immediately saved at the nearest save point (No way was I going to do that again).  After that, the only troubling boss was Ridley himself.  Other than those 3 bosses, the rest of the run was easy.

NOTE: This was my first completed 1% run too.  :)

#2- 1:07, 7%

This was something I did on a whim after my 1% run.  I believe I got 4 E-tanks and 3 Missile Expansions on this run.  I only got the ones that were on my way thru the sectors.  No getting anything If it would cost too much time.
cool. way to slaughter my first times. keep it up, and fusion won't be so lonely anymore.
Nightmare took me many tries as well. To make things worse, I destroyed it on my first try, only to get killed by a rather unfortunate chain of events including one of the purple pirates morphing into a feeshy pirate right at the time I released my charged shot at him Evil or Very Mad

God, I hate Nightmare.

On a sidenote, I had a 0:07 time after completing SRX, although I saved in sector 1 still. Then again, I didn't have no no-shot boss doors, not even cooperative boss doors. I also messed up on the shooting core-x, go me Laughing but still, I must be getting good at it :)

As for your second save, I wouldn't be able to compare, since I saved after I did the boss. I wasn't really interested in getting a perfect boss fight, I just let him bounce around as much as he wanted to.

My final 1% run time was 1:06, which is nowhere near sessyness, but good enough for me :P
And here's another run I just did today.

1:11, 32%, No Saving At All

I did this run only so I could have a file that would skip the beginning intro.  After seeing it several times, it gets kinda boring.  Wink

There were several mistakes I made (mistimed jumps, screwing about a bit too long, etc.).  I also didn't get any no shot boss doors.  However, despite all that, Nightmare got royally beaten to a pulp.  I killed it so fast that I was amazed.  That has never happened before.  :)

Suffice to say when I saw my time, I was quite amazed.  I thought my time was going to be more like 1:30 or something.  I may try to see If I can possibly get sub 1:05.
Good running. I will start getting hard when you try for sub-55.
100%
1:48
Jesus you guys must be on speed sugar or something. Lol.
Aaahhhhh. The board is back. Well, time for more updating.

Segment 3:

The eye-plant was giving me a lot of grief. I spent over 2 hours on him alone. Mainly that, and getting past the SA-X afterward. I eventually got fed up with it and saved after getting a 5 wasted jump boss.

Save: 0:10(?)

Here's the funny thing. Right after I saved, I kept doing my run (without resetting), you know, just in case I can keep going in one try. Well, that happened. I got hit by SA-X ice beam and a missed missile (see SA-X glitch section). So I only had 1 energy left. I ran and shot the next hopper to grab the X. Kept going, past Sector 4 save. Touched the water for damage. Grabbed another X on the way (no slowing down). I even jumped in the water to skip the ladder.

Reached the next save with 29 energy. (I only had 9 on the way up though I think)

Save: 0:12

Segment 4:

One comment here..........How many people thought Serris couldn't be killed any faster?  Twisted Evil

Save before Sector 3: 0:15
lol. will definitely be interested to see your serris fight. i have an idea of what you did, but definitely will need to confirm, as it sounds pretty crazy.

Let me see... One hit?
I got Serris with two hits before, so I guess you know about that. Which makes me think... One hit?
Or maybe... Hurt him while he's speeding around?
lol. poor daveb.
maybe fireing a point-blank charge beam + missiles? Just a guess :P probably wrong ;x
It's nothing that drastic. It's still a 2 hit kill.
I remember one time i killed serris uber quickly, because of sheer luck. After the first point-blank shot, he went from fast mode to normal mode right in front of me, so I could kill him the instant he went back to normal. I then got a perfect core-x fight, and collected the speed booster with the core-x's shell still on the screen. The thing is, i screwed up later in the segment and had to restart, and i've never been able to do a serris fight that good since then.
doesn't that suck though. reminds me of kip and his three round sheegoth problem.
I have a few questions Nate (They really have nothing to do with the topic.) They are more of a 'Fusion in general' type questions.

The top video here does not work. It say "The data that the plug in requested did not download succesfully." Just a heads up for when you get back.

Did Sess really discover those SA-X glitches? I never heard him mention them or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

I got a new computer and for some reason, it won't play the videos on this site. I have quicktime installed and all that stuff, but when I click a clip it says, "No installation was neccassary. The required software appears to be installed already.

Anybody can help me with the 3rd question. It's really ticking me off.

I'm not sure that he did, 'cos I think he put a link in the commentary somewhere to a video somewhere else of the perfect little jumps to dodge the beams.  I might be completely wrong however...

I assume you mean the bit where he drops on top of it and jumps over the beam.  If you don't, just ignore this post...

That's not the glitch. If you look closely, the diagonal beam passes right through you.

Oh, and those are my videos.

Oh, sorry.  ^^  Guess I'm just a bit slow when it comes to Fusion...

Which glitch are you talking about then?  I don't remember a beam going through Sess.  Which segment was it in?

That's because he didn't do it.

Look here.
i would suggest that you go ahead and download and reinstall quicktime from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. try not to change any of the default options during the installation. reboot a couple times for good measure, then try it. if you do this and it still doesn't work, let me know. also might be helpful to know which browser/version and which os/version you are running. i.e., if you can do it in mozilla but not in ie, then i know it's probably ie being a bastard.

and i think i slapped sess's name on those tricks because he mentioned to me that he discovered them way back in september or whenever he was doing his tro segments. he actually discovered a lot more than you see in his final segments, basically, and if you read his commentary you can kind of tell that.

about the one bad video, no clue why that's not working (other than i screwed up), not really in a position to troubleshoot right now, but i'll get on it asap (as in, after i capture all the runs waiting for me) after i get home.
Ok. Quicktime works now. Thanks.

I'm not surprised that Sess discovered the glitches. I discovered them on my own fairly quickly when I started to try the same thing. I just wasn't sure because they weren't mentioned in his commentary.
I've been thinking for awhile now about the atmospheric stabilizer segment.

I wonder if it would be faster to take out the 2nd one last (after collecting the charge beam). That way you could try the one shot kill and have an easier time with navigating the room without worrying about the enemies.

I haven't tried it very much, but I have a feeling it might be.

...? Can somebody tell me what this has to do with SA-X? I have no idea what's going on anymore. I shouldn't have left the board for almost a week....
