Barriers before mother brain

Can someone Tip me how to destroy those barriers? I ony have 2 missles and can't open even the first one. How many missles can those barrier withstand?

You need 7 missile min against per barrier. You play 9% hard PAL. Seriously? Shocked

This is bit crazy run. My personal 9% PAL hard stop just in first barrier. It is near impossible beat that barrier part without TAS. You need extremely good refill luck and all refills must be appeared right spot & right time. And: Don,t never lose your energy points, because it drop your missile refill drop rate.

He could also be playing 10% hard with screw attack. Or he may have even collected energy tanks.

None of which make it any easier...all you can do is try and line up three missile refills in a row, at the same time, then shoot two, reload, shoot, reload, shoot, reload, shoot...and hope you did it all fast enough. Then the most important part, save and get ready to cry...err, try again.

Fortunately Mother Brain and Chozodia are mostly way easier. There you only have to worry about dying in one shot. Ahh videogames, teaching us that instant death is better than prolonged futility.

If you wait too much time, you need at least 8 missile against per each barrier. That 7 is minimal, but your must be shot your missiles fast enought.

When i play 9% PAL hard so i working that barrier segment two days, but i don,t never had enought luck break first barrier. Sometimes i got three refills, but always wrong places.

I belive it is most important. Your must be have always 99 energy points. If you lose any point your energy and if you have two missile max. Rinkas never drops missile refill.

I belive that method what you need is:
Freeze 3 rinkas. You need very precise spots. Dodge all bullets and don,t lose any energy point. Kill all rinkas and if you have luck enought all rinkas drop missile refills. Shot 2 reload shot 2 reload and once again shoot 2, just what spineshark already said.

Now you can shot 8 missile per barrier. But this is very easily screw up. If you are too fast you get hit with refill too early. If you get hit with the bullets this took too much time. If you shot too slow you need more than 8 missile. I think 7 missile is near impossible with 9% hard mode, because that reload time took bit too much time. I think you need all 8 missile per barrier here.

I think it is very hard. But if you have very much patience/luck you can probably break that barrier. But there is 3 more barrier yet. I think that last one is very hard, even impossible on console.

Ouch. 9% PAL HARD! I remember mine...
I still get the nightmares, I got past the barriers at a rate of about 1 a month, until I got to MB, and was pwned 999/1000 times, before finally beating her, but dying on the escape, because I was shaking so hard...

Erg... 7 missles, but with my speed 8 missles, need to refill 3 times. I sometimes have 3 missles, but they are very close to each other. But i won't give up, i will smash em!!! I'll scream if I have my first barrier smashed, and I will offcourse save.

Thanks for the infos. I will try to kill those barriers.

BTW have you allready beaten PAL version with 9%?

No, I'm lucky that the MZM cartridge survived! It was ripped out, and thrown out of the window, where it was left, overnight. A rainy night.
If that leaf hadn't sacrificed itself in the name of metroid, you'd be looking at a non MZM owning dude right now.

Lol, my fusion card is broken and i can only play single segments. I'm lucky this old game still works, else i would play mzm on my comp with a ps2 pad. I have more controll with a ps2 pad. But the game lags when i'm fighting ridley

Just remember, every 32 frames (half an in-game second) the zebetites heal 1 missile's worth of damage

This is very usefull advise. So those zebites can withstand 7 (maybe 6) missiles and every second is worth 2 missiles o.O. This still means it is possible!!!

I beat the first 2 zebites *cheers*, but the problem has just begon. The third one is more difficult. I can max have 3 rinkas frozen next to the other, if i try more I get 99,99% hit.
Damn Phazon yoshi, you smashed all of those barriers. The forth one looks even harder with the lava at the bottem.

That is to say, 32 frames of receiving no damage. You could hit the zebetite on frame 31 and the counter would go back to zero.

The zebetites have 140 health, and missiles do 20 damage. So yeah, 7 missiles is the minimum it takes

I beat those Zebeties since i knew i could have max a half sec delay when firing missiles(beat 'm all with 7 missiles). Now comes the hard part..... Mother brain. Does Anyone know how much health it has?

You need almost 20 M against glass and 30-35 against her eye. This not that very hard. If you use my methods: You can jump onto the MB ledge. There is very easy dodge bullets and eye beams

It means you have to press fire once per half in-game second for 3½ in-game seconds

Providing you have a fast finger, you could destroy them in less than 1 in-game second anyway
