I have some questions about Fusion for you, since after watching your demonstration, you really know everything about this game.

1.  You said in order to wall jump of a skinny platform, you need to have Samus's bottom against the edge.  This sounds incredibly difficult.  I need to time it exactly right?  Tell me how to do it with such ease like you.

2.  Is 1% just not getting missiles, power bombs, and energy tanks?  I don't skip anything?

If you read this, thanks alot, I really appreciate it.  Sorry if my questions sounded so, umm, begginner, sounding. :)
Thread title:
Um..Hate to break it to yeah but none of us has seen Sesshoumaru for almost or even over a year now.
Other people can answer the questions, though.  I can't help with the wall jump, but yeah, 1% is just not getting any extra missile/powerbomb/energy tanks (except that one missile tank) -- the game gives you all of the actual items and upgrades, so it doesn't count them as percentages.  There's a completed 1% single-segment run up at SDA if you want to see the full thing.
About the Walljump: When walljumping a thin platform, notice that the sprite of Samus spinning is taller then the platform. And the lower part of Samus has to touch the platform to walljump off of it. This sounds harder than it is (for me at least).

About 1%: Chanoire pretty much covered it. That 1% is a Missile tank in PYR which currently noone has been able to skip without the aid of an emulator. However it has been skipped and the game has been finished with 0%, but I doubt that anyone will actually be able to do that on the cartridge. You can read all about it here. The main upgrades (Morph ball, missiles etc.) doesn't add to your final percentage, but they can't be skipped either.
I wonder where Sess is now...
1. Train. Train a lot, and you'll get good. There's not much more to say, really. Even without an explanation you should quickly get a feel of when you can and can't walljump.

2. 1% is beating all bosses, getting all abilities, but no energy tanks, no powerbomb expansions and only one missile pack. If you watched the demo, you should know the expansion.

Oh, and sess isn't dead or anything, he's just not here.

Why, thank you for informing me. Though thats a darn shame about Sesshoumaru.  I was really looking forward to talking to him after seeing him play Fusion.  I guess he stopped doing the tech demonstration too huh?
Yeah, as I recall he didn't really think there was much interesting/showy stuff left in the game, as you can't walljump after getting space jump.  Don't know the game well enough to assess whether that's true; I would've liked to see it end properly for resolution even if the last few segments weren't as flashy.
I was kind of curious as to what time he finished with but, meh.

And no, you can't wall jump after getting space jump.  Space jumping overrides wall jumping, really.  It's the same thing, you're just more flexible with space jumps (and, in Fusion's case, you actually have control of the multiple jumps rather than shooting across the board like you do with wall jumping).
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I think it was decided that he would have ended with about :50.
WD had :36 at the beggining of sector 5 (before Nightmare).
Sess had :37 at the save right before Nightmare.

:50 would be realistic for Sess, since WD got a low :50 (I think).

Damn. We need his Fusion wisdom!!!
May I ask why?

Ready and willing.
He got into a fight with Scarlet, threw a hissy fit, and left because Scarlet didn't like Nintendo.
or, more precisely, didn't like what nintendo has become.

Speaking of Sess's run, do you think it would be ok to use his run (what's done of it) on MIM 2.0? I'd ask Sess personally, but seeing as he doesn't frequent here anymore...
it should be easy enough to get in contact with him. i would start by sending him an email from this forum.

however, given that he seemed fond of calling it the "M2K2 1% Fusion run", i would not be too optimistic going in.

Embarassed Thanks for that.

Well, hopefully he'll change his mind and be ok with it. Best get cracking an e-mail him then...

Sooooooo...we can all do 1% runs.
He appears to have been asking why Sess left, not why we need his 1% wisdom.  Or at least that was the question that got answered.
My question was aimed at Dark_SA-X.

Anyway, if you need to know what sess did, check his commentaries. If you want to know an easy way of beating a certain part of a 1% run, there are several people here who can easily answer that.
Oh, sorry. >_<
That short spell of confusion aside, I will check the commentaries, once I can sort out the smashed-up Media Player I'm trying to deal with.
I wish there was someway to convince him to comeback.  I could really use some of his advice, and I would love to see him finish the run, it's the coolest thing ever.

You see, I'm not to good at any of the Metroid games.  I just watch everyone in awe.  Espiecielly ajbolt89 playing Metroid Zero Mission, that's just freaking amazing.
