Looks better than his earlier hacks despite the tiling. Watch out for the landing site room if you're prone to seizures though.

Cool thanks for the link! Can't wait to play this one, I really enjoy these Japanese hacks. They're typically not polished, but I like the guy's style - very unique.

It's cool to know he's still making hacks, but I don't think I want to finish this. Some of it looks recycled from Sevenstar too, like spore spawn and the couple of rooms he's around. I don't much enjoy hacks that make you shoot and bomb everything to find a path.

I have only played to the morphball, and so far the ideas are good (if not poorly executed).
...I feel like going through and fixing the errors... I won't, but I do feel like it. (He really should!)

It is fairly simple to find your way so far... Lots of 'hidden' paths but still easy to find.

Either way I hope he makes a hack with 'little' in the way of errors sometime. :|
I'm going to play through anyway, he colony got me hooked! :P

Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past

He's got so many tiling errors that it's become an art form. You actually lose count per screen.
It's become his identity, if there was no name attached to this hack we would still know who made it.
I had to stop playing and it wasn't because of the sloppy graphics,
it was because everything revolved around 'shoot walls for hidden path'.
No thanks.

This has errors in the tiles, but I think I'll enjoy this one. The hacks I cannot play from this japanese person is Seabed and Escape From Metroid but the rest I don't mind. Anyway, I kind of like that I have to shoot/bomb a lot. Also, I got charge beam before morph ball, which is rare in hacks. I'll forgive the graphics and my trigger happy ways and hopefully beat this one. :-)

Sheesh, tiling errors for sure, but god damn there's some hidden paths that have absolutely no indication that they are there unless you literally roll into any blocks you shoot up.

Then again, I got Gravity before Grapple and Speed Booster before Varia (I assume. Unless you actually have to grab it without Varia. In that case, hello tricky suitless heat run). Win I guess?

mother fucker. that looked worse than my room after a month of not cleaning it.
the creator couldn't even use the tiles he made himself. and too many hidden paths that were took to much effort to find.

the path to bombs is in the second room. there's a tunnel that goes through the ship room into another room. bombs are hidden in there.

I'm going to take a contrarian view. I'm about 2/3 of the way through (just got Gravity) and I think it's pretty fun. "The Sevenstar guy," as he's apparently now known, while utterly lacking polish as pointed out, has a weird, unique style, some crazy ideas, and makes pretty fun little hacks IMO. He's kind of the mad scientist of SM hacking.

I also disagree that most of the passages are that hidden and random. There are clues there. You just have to look closely. Plus, in some areas, this is really more of a half hack, and you know where rooms and pathways should be.

Yes, it's sloppy, but I think it's also fun, and that's my bottom line.

Never did find the Varia Suit, the Plasma Beam, or Kraid (There's no statue room. The entrance to Tourian is right after Ridley).

Kraid is in the game.

I found a hidden passage in brinstar to get to him.

The reward for beating him is

Varia

The only suit upgrades I have not located are

Spazer and plasma

I plan on looking for them later.

I'll say it again. I think this is a fun hack, in a messed up sort of way.

Ouch, just when I was going to ask if the heat run is required. I savestated just before it so I could either try to finish the run or find Kraid. Hmm, I could move the savestate to another folder so it wouldn't be overwritten.... Ah, choices, choices....

Did you patch a headered rom, then try to remove the header? that could cause problems.

You can't patch, THEN remove header. You need to start with a clean ROM, remove header, THEN patch.
