The Ing don't take on the physical appearance of that which they copy. They only take on the abilities.
The X and Gandrayda copy looks and ability. Albeit one kills the host, the other only mimics it.

Nah, That'd be like saying because Quadraxis uses the Annihilator on you in your fight the Ing that possessed him took on his powers and form. (which is again, only puppeteering, not like X or Gand)
Spider Guard only follows the tracks once it goes Spirer Mode. It doesn't look like the Morph Ball, nor does it have that little electric band.
Ah there's the best example. Bomb Guardian. That has Samus' Bomb power but looks NOTHING like the morph ball or any portion of Samus.
(PB Guard and Grapple are similar to Quad. They use a weapon.)
Boosty only can partially count because he actually turns into a morph ball during the attack.
