I love seeing the increased emphasis on Samus' moveset in these last few trailers we've gotten. (Confirmation of both Spring Ball and Shinespark abilities are always welcome.) And I agree Paraxade, Nintendo has definitely been pumping me up for Other M as of late with trailers like these.
So as far as the gameplay goes, it would seem like Other M will more than deliver on the action side of things. Hard to tell with the adventure aspect since we haven't gotten to explore anything ourselves yet, but I still have hope there even with Adam's influence already being felt early on. And as for the story, well... I'll let you know once I've finished the game for the first time. I welcome the focus on the story, but continue to wonder how well it will be presented in the end.
I love the look of the gameplay. I'm just hoping that the stupid, over the top fight moves are not mandatory. It's the only thing I really dislike so far.
A couple things I noticed below, but they're probably cooler to find in gameplay and are spoilers. Yeah I feel the same as most of us it seems, they do keep making her movement look cooler. This actually worked to get me real excited again.
Bombs have weight to them, beam selecting, the whole bomb scatter from Super seems to be back.
i really liked how you can connect dodges with blasts, it's not like in god of war where you need to finish the dodge to start attacking, and this is good
another thing i liked is how she shoots in various positions, she can shoot not only crouching, but if you dodge shoot, she will put her hand on the floor, i like this little details...
didn't like the grapple-beam motion, she doesn't have any momentum...
i want to see how feasible will be to jump into first person, shoot a enemy, go back to third person and evade the attack like they did in the video...
Wait, did it look to anyone else like the Shinespark is going to be separate from the Speed Booster here? I'm not sure if that's a good idea or a bad one. It seems like something that should be in a ROM hack, like how you couldn't wall jump in Super Metroid Redesign until you got the Wall Jump Boots.
Maybe they arent really separate, but the shinespark can be enabled/disabled for more controller options. I know that it really threw a wrench in their plans when ninty insisted upon no nunchuck, so we may see some very creative controller options. Perhaps there were no buttons available to activate the shinespark, so they had to make it toggle off/on in the submenu just so you could speed boost without shinesparking.
Not sure, because from what it looked like in the video Samus immediately shinesparked skyward as soon as she came to a stop on that last part of the speedbooster segment.
Oh, My God. I think I just Shit my pants. SPEED BOOSTER IS BACK!!! I haven't seen that in a Loooooong time. This game is just looking better. I like how they put Diffusion as a beam this time and not a missile.
Yep, Just the touch I was thinking. Make all the beams from MP1 a missile and come up with new beams. That'd be sweet. Diffusion Beam and 3 others. But one thing was sad about MP3 is that there was only 3 beams not 4. they put Power, Plasma and Nova. They should of add another beam that you get in Norion.
still looks like shit. also looks like it might be hard to control. would be interesting though to see if the speedbooster/shinespark proves useful to speedruns.
