heh, might as well go all the way and find a sky temple keys skip if we want to skip something else through insane memory manipulation stuff.

that skip would lower the % to 4 or 3. you wouldn't need dark visor and Power Bombs anymore and Light Suit might be possible to skip too (this is almost the same as mp1 lol)
You are not surviving the Sky Temple without a suit. >_>

MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
so we should find an way of being invincible without morph ball aiwebs_017
oh and yeah the light suit is not really far away from beeing skipped i mean invinicible morph ball would help a lot there are many places wich you cant survive without light suit and i think all of them are possible.. but hell beating all bosses without light suit sounds really hard.aiwebs_027
i think the last form is the largest issue in a TAS you may can manipulate a few ultra capsules but yeah... also DS3/4 sounds like real pain even with invincible morph ball ok with TAS it should be possible idk

Anywhere, everywhere
If you imagine that you had infinite freedom in movement, the percent would lower to 3%. You need power bombs to get Dark Oasis key to appear, you need annihilator beam to open portals, and you need dark visor to get all keys to appear. For 4%, you have to get light suit; there's no way you're getting all of the keys without it. For 5%, you have to trade annihilator for dark and light beam. The only immediate problems I can see with this change that I know of are in Battleground in Dark Agon: there's no way out after getting the sky temple key - the doors are super and light, and in the sanctuary lv1 to lv2 elevator: as Miles reminded me that you cannot as of yet wallcrawl up it without crashing.

rekameohs: you could get the keys with invinvible morph ball i think.
The reason it's needed is because 3 of the keys are underwater...

Which Elevator? and does it blackscreen because 3 rooms are loaded or is it a different crash?

Yes.

ah yeah i frogot about that
Just imagine: someone finds a way to skip Light Suit, but we still need a suit to not die, and it turns out to be faster to just get the Dark Suit and not only undo all of this but even undo the need for the wallcrawl that was the reason for needing the Dark Suit until two weeks ago.

that would be nice it would make the run easier i think
Hey. This is a topic. I guess I'll post in it.

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
Congrats! You improved on/took WR in both categories that you're not running at SGDQ!
I still have almost 2 months!

*goes to work on improving every category in Prime 1*
you could suggest that you switch the category to 6% since it apparently takes less time...

inb4 he goes and does 17% mp3.

.... that would actually be pretty fucking sweet to show off. Quad Skip would be hella scary though.
I kinda doubt Miles is up for doing 6% at a marathon.

That'd be hella awesome to see though. 6% has so many great tricks in it whereas 100% doesn't even do ILS. But yeah I could see quad skip being an issue since if you mess it up right at the end it could waste a lot of time.

Maybe we'll get lucky and m177 will offer to do 21% and 6% back to back at AGDQ 2016

I heavily doubt 21% would be remotely ready for a marathon by 2016.

EDIT: M177 is prioritizing his segmented run after metroid marathon, consistency would be a completely different story.

nor does the world really need to revolve around marathons tbh.
This run is extremely impressive.  Especially as it requires far more difficult things over what is needed in the any%.  Having not seen a low% since ILS was discovered it was awesome to see the the insane route required to get around obstacles as well as neat stuff like the unexpected Upper/Lower Dark Torvus door being used.

This run, like the any%, is also very smooth (with only a few SW hickups towards the end).  Aether jumping and OOB travel look far easier than they have any right to be!  This run may never be topped.

The different approach used in Watch Station than in the any% was nice to see.  What is the reason for scanning the post in WSA?

It's faster for in-game time. If you don't scan it, you have to wait at the door for Watch Station to load. If you do scan it, it finishes loading during the cutscene so you don't have to wait.
just out of curiosity, if you can get annihilator before dark and light beam, then this could be lowered to 5%, because it replaces both beams (if I´m not mistaken).
That might be the only way to lower the percentage, if you don´t skip keys anyways.
So I just wanted to know how far you can get without light and dark beam and what makes getting annihilator early not possible so far.
The elevator to upper sanctuary iirc
I don't think the Quadraxis fight would work out because we're not manly enough because defeating him on 99 health with no Dark Suit or Light Beam sounds like it's asking a bit much... maybe with some MBI trickery it might be doable?
