Just wait.  Someone'll find a way to skip Ceres. :)
Hahaha laugh new that was some great use of glitches, if I still had my SNES I would try this, although I do still have my PAL cartridge (It's definitely PAL because I remember the alternate language during the prologue). Anyway... great speed run, it's great that it can probably be done quite easily on console.
That smv worked for me with improvement7, maybe it is the rom/emulator combination that counts in the end  :)

I highly doubt this would be even "quite" easily doable on console. Glitching may prove more difficult than it seems in the emulator. Maybe surviving those Tourian parts with that little equipment should offer some challenge as well. Good luck for anyone who is willing to try. Be sure to record that and send it to everyone who hates even "reqular" glitching.  :P
Well, following this exact route, the main two difficulties I see is exhausting out-of-room IBJ and trying not to get killed by a rinka in the zebetite room. The rest is pretty trivial.
kej, I know I've said this before, but you'd make an excellent security researcher.

I've still never played super, but great job on the memory massaging.
Kejardon wins Super Metroid.
Wow. Just when you think Kej has run out of things to do. Bravo.
Quote from Kejardon:
The statue to Tourian is skipped by x-ray climbing up the left side, and a crystal flash to get past an annoying slope that will not allow you to x-ray climb past it. From there, I basically loop around to the bottom and hit the elevator from below. Then I'm in Tourian. I'm a bit surprised nobody discovered that before. :P

actually, I did that last year...  :-s

i'm gonna check out the run, heard it was amazing.  wish someone would convert it to AVI though... >_>
you can't really say that though because then i don't want to do it thinking you've already seen the emulator video.

Yeah...I kind of assumed the only people that might be interested are people that are interested enough to DL the right emulators and ROMs in the first place. I, of course, am not one of these people.

I'd like to see this run in an avi format, but I certainly don't expect it to be created and uploaded just for one person.

Well done Kej on a fantastic glitch-orama run!  8-)

I kinda feel the same way Mills. It would be nice to watch the avi but don't make it on my account. especially since ive never even played this game, i cant wait for it to come to virtual console so i can try all this crazy stuff though.

It's funny that at least three people have already said "That could be nice, but don't make it just for me."
indeed.

you can all make it for me instead.

thanks in advance.
are you serious?

Are you kidding?
Are you guys not taking him serious?
Are you guys really that lazy?

I'll make the .avi myself, it'll be hopefully done today in a few hours.
But how? I 'd seriously like to know.
How what? How to make an .avi?
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
Hehe, I can't make an AVI with snes9x, it keeps closing when I hit record AVI
It's that easy, eh? Embarassed

Oh seriously? You probably need to be able to play games at proper speeds in the first place, though, I assume. I think I need to get some tiny and shiny objects for my laptop so it runs better.

Hmmm, seems like the view hours are slightly over by now... :)

And yes, it's really easy through Snes9x. Just start the game and smv movie file you want to encode, then go to File -> Record AVI, chose the best codec (x264 in most cases) and adjust the settings of it for best quality/size result and hit ok. When the AVI recording should stop go to File -> Stop AVI Recording. The sound is not compressed after this, so it's recommended to do it with other software, then just replace it with the AVI done through Snes9x.
