Remember when everyone was all, "no one's getting sub 1:00"?
We were so innocent once.
Yeah i was the one guy who say it. But i was totally wrong . Though new route is something like 3 minutes faster, but its still easily sub hour even using old route.
congrats on finally beating miles's record T3 you really deserved it! you're the only person so far who's been able to beat miles on two categories (Any% SS and escape, i don't really count 21% runs since those are no serious speedruns, rather demonstrations or walkthrough.

you're right but i remember kip saying once "i prefer to be the first to do a run for a category so i have the record before having to beat someone else's record first" (which obviously seems to be harder). or something like that he said. so the competition, the 'push' of having to beat someone elses record keeps making people better. that's the thing that pushes you forward. and i think i don't need to explain that people's talents are not equal and that everyone and everything has its own limitations; i wish i was the smartest person in the world but i can't because i have my limitations; There will always be someone better than you! and this goes for anything else too in this world, not just for speedrunning. people come, people go. Every success and Triumph period is followed by a period of crisis and loss which marks the end of an era, and this has happened everywhere, in soccer/football, in tennis, in formula racing and everywhere else, not just in speedrunning. everything has an end, nothing is eternal :(
