What sort of things would you like to see in HBA + HBA Q+A.

1. Samus mocking Houston throughout... If not Samus then some mysterious voice mocking Houston. No matter what it is Houston MUST be mocked....

2. Skree's... There HAS to be a big Skree theme! Story could be about a Skree colony that has mutated into Super Skree's and Meta-Skree's then the final boss... Skree Prime. Shocked

3. As many Maru Mari references as is possible.

4. Space Pirates having an intelligent conversation in posh England English when interrupted by Houston they go "Oh better get back in character.... HISSSSSS!!!" and start going all Piratey. Talking all Jolly Good Ol Chap etc.

5. Humerous weapons. Ice Cream, Wave Beam - WAFER Beam! Plasma Beam - Chilli Sauce Beam?

You should have the planet be an unknown planet, and have Houston name the planet. Something like "Houston, we got a planet", or something like that.

Well... maybe you could have a learning system ala Final Fantasy Tactics, for example.

Make My Gun Work (Makes Houston's Gun ACTUALLY work): 10 AP
Long Beam (Adds a little power, can attack from back row): 50 AP
Ice Cream Beam (Ice Elemental Damage): 100 AP

You get the jist of it right? Also, while you are at it, you got to make it as visually impressive as possible for a freeware RPG as possible! (See Gunbound for details)

BTW: If Skree is going to be an enemy, you need to give the entire Skree family the move called "Zip, STAB!", it can hurt Houston and houston only, and it does massive damage to him (usually killing him at lower levels)

Can we have a Skree darts minigame? Like that recent comic where Houston was on a string and Samus was holding him and then the skree came and he hit the target and... yeah...

Anyway, have you confirmed the actual battle system, and is there any game you could compare it to?

Houston. I can learn programming fairly quickly. If you give me the instructions, programs needed to program (like compilers for C++ for example), and the sprites, I could help out.

Especailly with mini games. I love making mini games.

I've always been curious to how programming sprites and such in C++ looks like... After a few years of programming useless programs and such using Java Console, Compilers, CC, C++, Assembly, etc... it gets quite boring.

This thing is looking more and more promising though :)

The battle system is much like FF6s. What makes it different, is you need to learn the enemies weakpoint, and attack strategicly. Alot of the fightings just picking who you are going to attack, but some enemies, and all the bosses, you really need to think out. you dont just let go with your strongest attacks. you have to attack the right thing, at the right time, THEN let out with your strongest attacks. As for mini games, there will be some, but not crazy stuff that has nothing to do with the game. The skree mini-game will have to do with the plot, and it WILL make sense.

Learning to codes easy too. Its RM2K3. Learning to code complex situations... isnt so easy. Theres a link in one of the other maru mari threads, i'll go find it in a second.
