Yo.
Hey all. I had a nice piece of writing hiding deep in the bowels of my desktop computer, and today I actually dug it up. It's not a story, though; it's an unfinished SSBM adventure. Yeah, I'm sure you guys know that if you ever went to GameFAQs three months after Melee existed, people were already writing scenarios and adventures that people could roleplay on their SSBM when they got bored of beating the crap outta level 9 CPUs and other people. As old as it is, I figured it might better rest as a museum piece rather than in the Gaming board where people would probably tell me that no one plays Melee anymore. As it is, it does stand up fine as a well written story, so comments and ratings would be greatly appreciated. You can also let me know whether or not you'd like me to complete this (if you still play SSBM, why not? I'd be happy to, as long as it doesn't interfere too bad with my overall writing time.)

Well, this ends the intro wall-o'-text, so here it is! Enjoy!

Final Smash Bros Adventure: An SSBM Scenario by Zhs2

[Note: This small -texted section is purely gameplay info. Read if you want to. I'll tell you when to stop skipping.]

This is an ARPG like "Mario" by fortknoxwv, thanks for the great ideas by the way. Here's how it works:
- You may choose any character you like for this scenario, but some have different advantages than others. These will be explained later.
- For all battles, the style is stock melee. I will tell you how many stock for each and every battle. There are exceptions in match type, however...
- The system of EXP is almost the same, with a couple changes. It works as follows: ((# of KOs) x (Average Enemy Level {Average of the numbers I give you, not the numbers you set their CPU levels to.})) = (Total Exp Gained)
- To gain a level, your Exp total must be higher than or equal to ((Current Level) + (character class)) x (2 x (Current Level))
- To determine an opponent's level, you subtract your level from the opponent's given level number. Any resulting numbers higher than 9 will be level 9 for that opponent, and any resulting numbers less than 1 will obviously be level 1 for that opponent.
- To determine opponent's handicap, you subtract your strength from their given strength. Works the same as for levels.
- To determine your handicap rating, take the average of your opponents' handicaps and your character class. (For example, your character class is 4, while your opponents' handicap level is 6 for all 3 of them. 4+6+6+6=22, 22/4 is 6 (you may round up), so your character's handicap for the round is 6.
- At the end of each battle, count the coins you've earned. The small ones are worth 10, and the large ones are worth 100.
- Turn off all items. You may buy items back in town shops, and unlock item frequencies at certain checkpoints in the story.
- At certain points in the story (I will notify you of such a time,) you will be allowed to purchase items and strength points (for 200 coins a point) from the town you just freed and all the others you've freed. You will also be allowed to fight Coin and Exp battles at that town's arenas, and you may fight these matches as many times as you like. I will give opponent levels and strengths for each of these optional matches, as well as the arenas they will be fought at and the time limits for the Coin and Exp matches. For Coin matches, the style of the fight is Coin Melee, and you do NOT gain Exp from these battles. Be sure to add the number of coins you got in-battle with the amount you gain after the battle. For Exp matches, the style of the fight is Time Melee, and you do NOT gain any coins after the battle. For Exp battles, you may select any arena you have unlocked to battle in (I will say when you unlock arenas.)
- Coin and Exp battles may also have extra rules to follow... And towns may have certain other kinds of shops and items to sell...
- Once you reach a checkpoint, you may do anything I say you can, but once you continue along past said checkpoint, you may NOT do any other battles than those next in the story or purchase any items or strength points until the next checkpoint!
- Your starting stats are: Level = 1, Strength = (Character Class), and Coins = 100.
- Wondering what Character Class is? It is simply calculated from the Basic Weight List of the Character Weight FAQ (thanks to Jonathan Leung for this wonderful FAQ!) Here's the Character Class List:

1. Pichu
2. Jigglypuff, Mr. Game & Watch
3. Kirby
4. Fox
5. Pikachu, Falco
6. Mewtwo, Young Link, Roy
7. Marth
8. Ice Climbers
9. Peach, Zelda, Sheik
10. Ness
11. Mario, Luigi, Dr. Mario
12. Link, Captain Falcon
13. Yoshi
14. Ganondorf
15. Samus
16. D.K.
17. Bowser

In this list, characters with lower numbers are lighter, and characters with higher numbers are heavier. Thanks to this list, I was able to create an RPG-like system where the lighter characters have the advantages of higher speed and agility, but the disadvantages of lower staminas and strengths in the story. Likewise, heavier characters have the advantages of more strength and stamina, but the disadvantages of less speed and agility. Also, it is easy to notice that lighter characters level up faster, thus allowing them to fight CPUs that are slower and less agile more easily, and heavier characters start with more strength, thus allowing them more knockdown power.
- If the battle has the title Boss, then all enemies are on the same team.
- If you have an ally battling with you, then his level is (Average Enemy LVL) - 2.
- If you lose a battle, do NOT gain any EXP or Coins for that battle!
One final note: I cannot make you play through this story in the way I've intended you to, but it will be much more fun if you do follow my rules. Be sure to record your Level, Strength, Coins, Freed towns, unlocked arenas, and items as you go. And, most important of all, HAVE FUN!!!

[End of Gameplay info. The story comes next.]

Prologue: The Beginning of Chaos

It was a relatively peaceful time in the galaxy. There was no fighting, and no wars between good and evil ensued. Life was running relatively smooth, with no hope of violence, besides the occasional bounty hunt, or Goomba clean-up, or Trainer battle. Yes, life was great, until that fateful day... An ominous shadow enveloped the galaxy. Planets were suddenly attacked, and held under the leadership of an unknown dark force... One by one, the heroes of that solar system suddenly disappeared without reason, and with no one to fight the dark force, the galaxy fell into chaos...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 01: A Light of Hope
Part 1: Final Thoughts
5 years have passed since that fateful day occurred. The people are forced to do the bidding of the Dark Soldiers, shadowy figures that assume the forms of palace guards. These Dark Soldiers do as they please, only to stop and take orders from any higher-ups. The people are their slaves, and if one decides to take a stand, he is quickly overthrown, and he and his followers are mercilessly executed. They live in a time of darkness, where despair is king and no hope is known to exist. But you know there is hope to be seen, as you train with your master in a well-hidden dojo that only he and you know of.
"Well, my student," your master Marth says, "I have taught you everything you need to know to defeat this great evil. Do you believe in yourself?"
"Yes, master," You reply.
"Do you believe in your abilities, and that you can singlehandedly defeat the greatest evil to ever exist?"
"Y-yes, master."
"Hmmm... You seem to show much confidence in your words, my pupil. But the time has come for your final test, where you prove that I have taught you well, and that you are fully capable of handling every danger you face and every enemy you encounter."
"W-what do I do to pass that test, m-master?"
"You... must defeat me!!!"

Boss 01: I have trained you well.
Enemy: Marth. Level: 4. Strength: 10.
Arena: Brinstar
Stock: 2

Special Notes: none
Win Condition: KO all enemies.
Win: Continue to Part 2
Loss: Calculate EXP for fighting in the battle anyways. Redo Part 1.
...
Part 2: Any Doubts?
"You have done well, my student. I believe you are ready. I fear, though, that this battle has taken a toll on me..."
"What's wrong, master? What's the matter?"
Marth suddenly falls to his knees, and says, "I believe that I must take to my bed now, my pupil... but I do not want you to leave so quickly, as it is still far too dangerous to head out on your own. Here..." Marth stands up, and pushes a stone on the wall. It reveals a secret passage. "This path will take you to a still-functional teleporter, and a training room. I never told you about the training room because I bought it before the time of darkness, and the training room is not truly suited to good use with all of the newer techniques I taught you..." He chuckles, then says, "But you could still gain some good experience from it. And the teleporter will start you on your quest. Do not fail me, or I'll punish you in the afterlife."
You exhert a nervous chuckle as your master takes his leave, and head on down the hall.

Checkpoint Reached! You may now do one of the following things:
1. Use the training room to your heart's content.

Match: Time Melee
Time: 2 min.
Arena: Battlefield
Choose 3 of the following enemies:

Enemy: Pichu. Level: 1 Strength: 3
Enemy: Jigglypuff. Level: 2 Strength: 4
Enemy: Kirby. Level: 3 Strength: 5
Special Notes: You do not gain coins from this battle

2. You may enter the teleporter, and continue on to Chapter 02. You may not return here after entering, so enter only when you're ready...

End Chapter 01.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 02: The Encounter
Part 1: Ambush!
As you grab some stuff that you feel will help you in your mission, you discover an envelope in between the sheets on your bed. You open it to find some money and a letter from Marth. It reads:

"Dear Pupil:

I hereby bequeath unto you all of my assets and my estate. In simpler terms, everything I owned and this little cave is yours now. Although it's not much, I believe you'll find it quite comfortable, and I hope you'll be able to put it to good use once you complete your assignment. I also happened to save some money, but I won't be able to spend it now, considering the downs in business life nowadays. But enough joking. There's a galaxy to be saved, and you are its only hope for revival. Farewell, my student; and make sure your cause is not in vain.

Signed,

Marth

P.S. I hid something for you in a box under the bed. I never figured out how to use it, but with the youth these days, I'm sure you'll put it to good use."

You finish reading the letter, making sure to wipe the tears from your eyes, and you step into the teleporter, waiting to be transported to your first destination...

**You gained the Item Switch! You may now turn Item appearance to Very Low!**

**You gained 1000 Coins!**

**You may now use the Parasol and Lip's Stick items!**

As you materialize, you look around and see a barren landscape, for miles and miles around. Suddenly, Dark Soldiers also materialize from nowhere and grab you!
"What are you doing on the grounds of the Royal Throne?"
"What, Royal, Throne?" You gasp, as their grips tighten.
"No puny creature is allowed to set foot upon the Royal Planet! No matter, this only makes it easier to bring you to the judgment of our leader!"
You are knocked unconscious, only to wake up in a cage in front of a huge throne! There are Dark Soldiers all around, and the throne is the seating place for their Grand Leader!
"Milord, this creature was trespassing upon the royal lands--"
"SILENCE! I do not need to know anything about this pitiful creature, and I don't need to know anything to be able to get rid of him!! Guards! Take this, this thing, down to the garbage pit, and throw him in!!"
"Yes Sir!" They respond, as they effortlessly take your cage to a remote location, and throw you into a gigantic hole!
As you drop down, you notice that the platforms are narrow, and that there's lava below. Suddenly, a huge creature comes out of the lava, and starts attacking!
"Well, well, it seems you've met my pet Kraid!! He was relatively easy to train, but he isn't slow on the uptake!!" You hear this cackling voice, and look up to see Dark Soldiers drop down and take on familiar forms...
"Yes, my Guards, make sure that this intruder doesn't have a fighting chance!!!!!"

Part 2: A daring plan...
As you leave the "garbage pit", you climb out and examine your surroundings. You then realize that this planet is the remains of Termina! You then head back to the throne to kill the leader of the shadows. "Hmmm," you think to yourself, "maybe if I kill their leader here and now, this period of darkness will be over! Simple as that!" As you head in the direction of the palace, you come upon an undestroyed oasis. "Why hasn't this place come under the influence of the shadows?," you wonder aloud. "That's because we're here." You jump at the voice, and spin around to see three boys holding swords and shields.
"We've been able to hold this ground from the shadows for a couple weeks now. All those soldiers are are for training. After a while, the leader gave up on this area, and decided not to use anymore of his precious guards. Which brings me to ask you why you're here."
"I'm on a mission. A mission to end this period of darkness, and to vanquish--"
"HAH!! That's so much of a flat-out lie that a rug could do better! Get 'im, boys!"

Part 3a: New Recruit
"Sorry about the ambush, mister," the head boy admits, "We thought you was another one of those solo-act Dark Soldiers. Y'see, I kinda lied about the end of the Dark Soldier attacks." The other two boys nod their heads in agreement. "The leader instead sent a coupla Dark Soldiers all by themselves, posing as normal civilians. But we quickly discovered 'em in the act, and we got rid of 'em, every time. Judging by your power, you're too strong to be one of them."
"Yeah, well, thanks for the bruises," you tell them. You start to leave, but the head boy grabs you and says, " Wait! Lemme make it up to you. I know! If you're on a mission, like you really say you are, I'll help! I, I promise I won't slow ya down or anything!" "Hmmm..." You sit and think for a minute about this proposition, and finally say, "Ok! I must warn you, though, that this mission is a very dangerous one. Are you sure you still want to go?" "Yes! I love this adventuring stuff! I'll do my best! You guys stay here, I'm gonna be gone for a while."
Boy 2: "Yea, we heard everything back here. You go on ahead. Leave the city's defense to us!
Boy 3: "Yea, good luck to ya! Oh yea, one more thing. Link, your dad told me to give this to you."
Boy 1: "Some money? Oh yea! My allowance for this week!" He turns to you and says, "Here. I want you to have my allowance. Maybe we can find somewhere to spend it at! Alright! This is my final goodbye to y'all! Bye!"
Boys 2 & 3: "Bye! Good luck! See ya!"
You and the boy head on towards the palace, to dethrone the Shadow Leader...

**You gained Y. Link as and ally! He gains EXP only from the battles he participates in, and you may play as him/have him as a in-battle ally when I give you the choice to. He starts at: Level: 5. Strength: 6. He follows his own system based on the rules above.**

**You gained 100 Coins.**

Continue to Part 4.
...
Part 3b: You're on your own.
"Yea, that's right you big liar! You're just as weak as all your other Shadowy friends! Now, begone, before we beat you up again!!!" They continue jeering as you depart on your way to the palace.

**You lose 200 Coins. Every time you lose.**

Continue to Part 4, without Y. Link as an ally, or you may try to fight them again in Part 2.
...
Part 4: Seige upon Royalty.
You sneak into the palace as the Dark Soldiers are distracted by a clever ploy you designed. Well, actually, it consisted of throwing a rock, but at least it worked. As you head in, you run headlong into a Dark Soldier! "Well, well, look what the shadows dragged in. I have a deal to make to you, however." "Like what?," you retort. "I haven't had a good fight in decades, and I'll even consider letting you live if we battle. That is, if you win, of course... but if you lose, I'll sound an alarm, and let the others deal with you." "Alright then, bring it on!"

If you have no ally, follow path A, except with no ally.
...
Path A, Point 1: Head-on Collision
"Let's split up here," you tell Link. "Yea," he replies, "Good idea. You go down that hallway, and I'll crawl through this hole." "Right, right," you say, and you split up with him and head down the hallway. Fortunately, you encounter no resistance as you head along. Or, at least there seems to be none...

**You are now playing as Young Link.**

"Let's split up here," you tell Link. "Yea," he replies, "Good idea. You go down that hallway, and I'll crawl through this hole." "Right, right," you say, and he heads into the little crawlspace in the wall. He comes out on the other side to find a kitchen full of Shadow Beings! "Oops!" Part 7: The Light of Day
You bust into the throne room, and see the Shadow Leader upon his throne!
"Well, you have caused quite an uproar in my castle. Guards! Eliminate this threat!!"
You stand there for a couple minutes, waiting for something to happen.
"Well? When do your warriors come to kick my butt?"
"Grrr! I don't understand! Where are all of my Guards? Why aren't they here to kill you????"
"Maybe its because we killed them all first!," Young Link shouts.
"Well, if it isn't the little whelp that caused me so much trouble in the first place! I thought my Dark Soldiers had already killed you."
"Fat chance! Your Dark Soldiers were as weak as they come! Nice try, though, Mister Shadow Leader! Come on, Mister 'I'm on a mission', lets take this guy down once and for all!!"

...
Part 9: Termina Freed!
"YEA!!! ALRIGHT!! We beat 'em! We beat 'em!!!!!" Link jumps for joy at your recent victory.
"Hold it, Link. That was one of many. I know now that he wasn't the only leader of the darkness."
"You mean there's more of them?" He shoots you a quizzical look.
"Unfortunately, yes, there are more leaders. Each leader has control over a specific universe of characters, such as the one we just defeated. He controlled the universe of Triforce, or your home planet. There's still more universes out there to free--"
You stop talking at the whim of a sudden but muffled voice, saying "What? What were those fighting noises out there? Who's there??"
You walk up to the throne and pull a lever next to it. The throne moves to reveal a hidden cell underneath!
A man with an evil aura climbs out and says "Hey, thanks for freeing me. I was down there for quite a while."
Link suddenly pulls his sword on the man. "You," he said.
The man spins around to see Link, and says, "Whoa there, Young Link! We have no reason to fight anymore!"
"Yeah right! Why should I listen to you? And where's Princess Zelda?"
"Hey, hey you guys! Link! Why do you hate this man so much?"
"This man, is none other than the evil sorceror Ganondorf, the man bent upon using the Triforce for his own evil needs, and kidnapping Princess Zelda just to do it!"
Ganondorf just stood there, staring for a minute, and then he replied, "They've destroyed the Triforce, Young Link. Hell, they even destroyed Majora's Mask and the Moon too! They don't like any evil presences stronger than theirs around, that's why they locked me up. They've hidden Princess Zelda somewhere else on this planet, because they don't want anyone stronger than them to be free and roaming while they're in control. I swear, I'm telling the truth!"
Young Link pulls back his sword and says, "That would explain why the moon is gone. Alright, Ganondorf, we'll trust you for now. But don't try anything funny!"
You and the others leave the castle, and head out towards the newly rejuvenated city of Termina.

Chapter 03: Lives we take for granted
Part 1: Let's Blow this Dump
After training for several hours in Termina, you're ready to help liberate the next world.
"How am I supposed to defeat the darkness if I have nothing to reach it with??" You ask yourself.
"You mean, you need some kind of transport, like some flying gizmo," Young Link states.
"Yup, that's pretty much all I need. Great. Since shadows can phase in and out of dimensional space and time, they don't have any methods of transportation," You say.
"Dimensiona-wha?" Link says.
"Sorry. Huge vocabulary. It's a habit I learned from my master Marth."
"Huh. He uses big words too?"
"Yea. He was a cool guy."
"Hey, a boat!" Link exclaims.
"My master did teach me some-- Did you just say boat?"
"Yea! A flying one!"
"Don't be ridiculous--"
You're cut short in the middle of your sentence by the sight of a flying boat docking on the side of the world's edge.
"See! I wasn't lying! I wonder where it takes us!"
"Wait. How do we know this isn't some trick of the shadows?"
"Because I'm touching it!!"
"Wait! Young Link! What are you doing?!?"
"Stowing away on the boat! What's it look like I'm doing?"
You sigh, and board the boat also. "Oh alright, I don't think it'll hurt anything."
You sit with Link for a while, trying to quietly relieve your boredom as the ship continues sailing through the wild blue yonder. All of a sudden, a fox and a bird that walk upright approach you!
"Hey, these guys aren't part of our cargo!" The fox exclaims.
"Yeah, what do you think you're doing, boarding our little cargo ship?" The bird says.
"Let's beat 'em up, Fox!" "Good idea, Falco! Let's make them pay!"
"You're on!!" Young Link exclaims.
"Oh great," You sigh.

Battle 10: We just need a ride!
Enemy: Fox. Level: 13 Strength: 25
Enemy: Falco. Level: 12 Strength: 30
You may have your ally.
Arena: Rainbow Ride
Stock: 5

Special Notes: You and ally are one team, Fox and Falco are the other.
Win Condition: KO all enemy stock, but avoid being KO'ed at all! (for you and ally)
Win: You've succeeded at fainting the entire crew, but they aren't awake to drive the ship. Good luck in Part 2!
Lose: They may have beaten you to the ground, but you've distracted them long enough to allow their ship to veer into an inevitable crash course. Lose 300 coins and go to Part 2.
...
Part 2: Are we there yet?
"Oh great! Thanks to you two stowaways, our cargo ship is goin' down!" Fox exclaims. "I think you broke my good arm, too!"
"Oh man! Not Fox's driving skills!" Falco mutters.
"What was that, Falco? So I guess it's my fault that you fell asleep during your driving exam!!" Fox yells.
As they continue to argue, you and Link are desperately trying to drive the ship for them.
"How am I supposed to know what all these meters mean??" Link cries.
"I never believed that I would be trying to commandeer a cargo ship in my travels!" You say to yourself.
As a dock comes into sight, you turn the heavy wheel out of desperation, and manage to land the ship without TOO many scratches.
"You idiot!!" Fox yells at you, "What are you trying to do? Get us all killed?!?!?"
"Look at this!" Falco screeches, "You've ruined my paint job!!"
"YOUR PAINT JOB???" Fox roars, "Half a second ago, our LIVES could have been ruined!!!"
As Fox and Falco continue on without end, you and Link silently agree that this would be the best time to ditch them. You both successfully sneak away without notice from either of the two partners. As you continue onward, you notice that the likenesses of this planet are also covered in shadows, and that there are several arenas, probably to the amusement of those shrouded in darkness. One of the arenas seems to look like a raceway of some sort.
"Wow! The F-Zero races!" Link yells.
"The what?" You ask.
"Y'know, the F-Zero races! Where there are all these cool racing dudes, and they show their mad racing skills on all kinds of twisted tracks! They're awesome!!"
"O...k...." You say.
"Have you been living under a rock all your life?? You've never even heard of the great Captain Falcon before? One of the greatest bounty hunters to ever live?"
"Now that you mention it, I do remember hearing the name Falcon... He was one of the saviors of Galaxy N, right?"
"Umm... Yea! Exactly! Can we go see him race, please? Please please please please pleaaaaaaaaaaaase???"
"I don't believe we'll actually see him, though. He might have also been... removed, for fear of his power," You warn.
"I don't care! I want to see the race anyways!" Link exclaims.
"Oh, alright," you sigh.
You and Link head into the stadium benchers, only to find it void of life.
"Th-th-thats weird, where is everyone?" Link says fearfully.
"If there's noone here, then why is the race still happening?" You wonder.
At that moment, you and Link suspiciously lose your balance, as if shoved somewhat, and you both tumble onto the raceway. Link gets back up and exclaims, "Hey! It's him! Captain Falcon! I told you we'd be able to see him!"
You also get up, and see not only Captain Falcon, but an aura of shadows surrounding him as well. "Watch out, Link! That's not Captain Falcon! That's only another Dark Soldier!!" You and Link suddenly dodge as Captain Falcon attacks!

Part 3: Switching off
As Captain Falcon just lays there after his defeat, you say, "Yes! We've defeated him! We did it, Link! Link?" You look around, and don't see him at first. Suddenly, a cry for "Help!" rips through the air, and you scramble over to the edge of the track to see Link hanging from the edge of the track! "HELP!" He screams, "PULL ME UP!!" "I'm coming for you!" You yell, as you grab his arm and attempt to pull him up. "I'm, I'm SLIPPING!" He yells, "Can't, Hold, On, Much, Longer!!" You ease out of your throat, as Young Link's suddenly heavy weight surprises you, as if something's pulling him downward. His hand suddenly slips from your grasp, as he falls downward into an infinitely bottomless pit. You stare in disbelief at the abyss below, muttering half-statements, "He couldn't've, It wouldn't've, How?" You sit upon the edge of the track, mourning the recent loss of a once-established teammate. "Are, are you OK?" You hear, as you sit there crying. "Was, was that a friend of yours?" "Yes," you manage to answer. You look up and see Captain Falcon standing there in disbelief as well. "Huh?" You suddenly regain your composure as you yet again speak in half-statements, such as "But you, But I thought you were, How?" "Don't be so surprised. Once the Dark ones discovered my weakness to hypnotism, they found they were able to use me, instead of killing me. Umm... I know this might not be appropriate to ask now, but do you mind if I, well, tagalong and be your partner for a while? Y'know... To make up for your friend?" "That would be a fine idea, Captain! You're right! I can't let the loss of loved ones drag me down; I must complete my mission!" "Alright then... for our first new mission, I know where this planet's Shadow leader is. He's enjoying the F-Zero races being held at Big Blue. It will be easy enough to strike him down there, as he will expect absolutely nothing. Let's GO!" As the Captain runs over to his vehicle, the Blue Falcon, you stand there for a little while longer, saying to yourself, "This one will be for you, Link." "Come on, you, hurry up! We do NOT have all day to stand around!" The Captain yells, and you shout, "Coming, Captain!, as you run towards his vehicle and climb in. "By the way," He says, "You can just call me Falcon."

**Y. Link has left your party...**

**Captain Falcon is now your ally! Level: 10 Strength: 20**

Part 4: Bad Memories No More
"Wow, Falcon! This is one nice ship you have!"
"Thanks, kid. It's called the Blue Bird. Ah, here we are! Now hovering above the Big Blue raceway! I'll set the ship to autopilot. Go ahead, kid, climb out the top hatch! The view is spectacular!"
As you climb out the hatch, you realize the captain wasn't lying. You climb out all the way, and suddenly hear sneering voices from behind you. "Well, well, if it isn't the ship wrecker!"
You spin around to see Fox and Falco! "Yea," Falco sneers, "You ruined my paint job! It took me weeks to get that all painted up!" "Let's give him a taste of the pain, Falco!" "You read my mind, Fox!"
Captain Falcon climbs out the hatch, sees Fox and Falco, and asks, "Who are these two birdbrains?"
"You might call them old 'friends'," making quotation mark symbols with your fingers at the word friends, "and by the way, only one of them is a birdbrain."
"I see," says the Captain, "well, let's get 'em!"

Part 5: Too fast-paced for you?
"Well, we sure showed those jerks what was coming to them!" Captain exclaimed.
"Yea, but what do we do with them now?"
"Good point. We had better put them somewhere safe, like the cargo hold."
"Alright." You and the Captain pick up Fox and Falco and drag them to the cargo hold of the ship.
"Now that these two numbskulls are out of the way, we can now carry out the plan. We need to trick their leader into fighting us down here. That way, we have the surest advantage in defeating them, so to speak..."
"What's our advantage?" You wonder curiously.
"Do you think he's ever fought on top of a moving vehicle before, much less above a raceway?"
"Neither have I..." You point out.
"Hmm..." the Captain pondered, "Well, here's the plan. I'll pretend I'm still mind controlled, but that it's wearing off. He won't have time to fix that in the middle of a battle. But don't hurt me, OK?"
You both climb out the hatch, and begin your daring plan...

Part 6: Stronger than you thought
"Hmm... So you're the meddlers that foiled my smuggling plan," the evil Leader says as he floats onto the Blue Bird.
"What smuggling plan?" You ask.
"You fool! Do you not know about those two nincompoops in this ship's cargo hold? Why, they took the liberty of smuggling me some of those precious Rupees from Termina just to gain my allegiance! I would've killed them anyways, but I decided just to give them a second chance at life so they could bring me those Rupees! Those Rupees are made of precious metals found nowhere else! I spent my life collecting those Rupees, so I could be the richest Shadow Leader! Curse the Leader that took Termina for himself!"
"If you must know, Mr. Leader, I killed the Shadow Leader of Termina myself!"
"Hmm... Such a noble deed from a pathetic creature such as yourself! But no matter... Your meddling in my affairs has caused me trouble to no end. I will take your life like you took my precious Rupees!"
"Bring it on, you mere shadow!"
"Well then, so be it! You will never be able to vanquish the likes of me!"

Fox and Falco climb out of the hatch of the Blue Bird, and exclaim, "We heard everything!!"

"Yea, we apologize for earlier. You saved us from the wrath of that evil man by making us fail the first time," says Falco.
"Wh-what happened to him?" You ask cautiously.
"We took 'im out, and rightly done so." Falco says.
"Yea, so we're sorry we beat you up." Fox says.
