Thread title:
Theme of Labyrinth Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow
Ridley Me This, Samus! Arrow Arrow Arrow Exclamation (could use more drums in some spots)
Crystal Caves Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow (This one's good, but... it's missing something... try putting in some harmony?  I'm not sure.)
We Have Victory Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow Exclamation (very good)
Cosmic Clouds Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow Exclamation (also very good)
Rockin' Rumble Arrow Arrow Arrow (starts off well, but all the guitar kinda makes it muddy)
Crystal Caves Act 2 Arrow Arrow Arrow Exclamation (good, but it starts to ease off without really going anywhere)
[Zombie] Robot Pirate Space Dragon! Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow Exclamation (nice job on this one)
Shoot! Arrow Arrow Arrow Arrow (not much to say about this one.  Could it be in a boss battle?  I think so.)

One more thing:  If these are supposed to be video game-type songs, maybe try looping them?
I like turtles.
Thanks for the input - not all of them are actually meant to be video game BGM, so I didn't loop them.

Now here are two more (I'm sure you guys will know and love the latter - well, I hope you'll like it, anyway).
I like them both, but in Beginnings, try ending the section at 1:04 earlier.  It felt like it was going a little too long.

rather than double posting, just keep editing the last post of the thread. it will still be marked unread for everyone.

Oh, all right.  Sorry.
I'm likin it. Try Fruity Loops

I use the demo of FL Studio 9 to add audio effects.  But the free version can't save progress (it can export as MP3, for some reason, though), and I don't want to learn how to actually enter the notes in.  Possibly the only good thing about Anvil Studio is that it has the option to view each track as sheet music.

Thanks for taking the time to listen to my stuff!
The Darkened Corridors reminds me of BoF3.
I like turtles.
Is that a good thing?

general rule of thumb.

If someone says "This reminds me of X" look to the punctuation at the end of the sentence.
! = good relation
. = not negative relation
... = negative relation

So, gonna round a guess, and say "yes"

Side note: I didn't find "Tension in the walls" a very 'tension-y' song. More a "Cave level" song. Or a "laying out the pieces of the mystery" song.

Well, it's been a while since I've posted anything musical in here (or anything at all, really).  Not because I don't do music anymore, mind you.

Thought I'd drop this here.  Since it's a Metroid remix, I figured it might be of interest to some folks here.  Definitely one of the best songs I've done so far.

Decently good. But it doesn't loop well, and cuts off waaaay too abruptly.

I was looking forward to having it loop a couple times as I read a webcomic, but it just refused to play along.

Dang.  Maybe that's The Audio Portal's looping feature, I dunno.

Everything always loops perfectly in FL Studio, though, so I sometimes forget that the sites to which I upload don't do nearly as well in that regard.  Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

EDIT: This.  If you're at all familiar with the Crash Bandicoot games, I'd be grateful for some feedback.

EDIT again: This.  It's an original piece that is inspired heavily by Renard's stuff.  So hopefully reminiscent of that on some level.
The newer one makes me think of this

but it's good. I like. What do you use for percussion?
I like turtles.
Actually just used the samples that came with the Producer edition of FL Studio.  XD

Used presets for the drums and piano, and this free version of Alchemy I got a while back for the synths.  Right now I'm very cheap so I don't want to pay for sample libraries or VST plugins if I don't absolutely have to.
you never have to. keygens are around for a lot of the well known and respected VSTs (Audiorealism do a good vst drum machine) and you can use these to get you started on making more unique drum hits and loops, particularly if there is a sequencing feature in the DAW you use.
actually, most of my drum hits came on a disc with an issue of this magazine. It'd be worth keeping an eye out for something similar as they're always good for material and tutorials.

Well, I've been sitting on this song for quite a while, but I think I've tweaked it about as much as I'm ever going to, so here it is.

At Newgrounds
At The Audio Portal
At my Tumblr

Really nice ambiance on that track. I love the patch you used for the main melody as well. Very well done. Very Happy
