a cat in a litter of five
?  really no point to the spoiler but whatev.

What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
    Up, up it goes,
    And yet never grows?
Is it a
skyscraper?
Are you ready for some underwear music?

Nope.
Edit: I mean, how could
a cat
help in bad luck.
Do you really need to put it in spoiler tags if it's the wrong answer?

I was wondering when the Hobbit's riddles would show up.
A mountain
red chamber dream
I don't get how a mountain has roots.

Also, The Hobbit sucks.
Mister ...

My 6th grade teacher read the book to me.  I'm surprised the book didn't put anyone into a coma.  Correction: I'm surprised the Teacher didn't put anyone into a coma.

The reason why someone might consider a mountain to have roots is because most mountains rise from the ground.  It's one of those things that either make perfect sense to you or it doesn't.  And I am in no mood to try to explain it right now.
Imo my answer makes more sense. Also, some mountains do technically grow, just very slowly.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

I always figured it had something to do with caves and such underneath, or it could be trying to compare  a mountain to a tree as some kind of weird clue, it was always a little confusing to me as well.

Er...do you actually read topics, or what?
red chamber dream
All he said was he was wondering when they'd come up, not that he expected them not to.

Here's another riddle I read a few days back:
I'm one of the indentical quintuplets. My four siblings rush out all the time, rain or shine. I sleep in my dark chamber but I'm always ready to help in bad luck. What am I?

If somebody wants to know the answer it is
car's spare tire
.
yeah

How many people could have actually figured that out?
red chamber dream
Probably lots. The word choice may be fairly poor, but it's not an extremely difficult riddle.

Eh? :-s
That was actually a good one imo.
So, this guy lives on the eighteenth floor of a hotel.  He takes the elevator down in the morning, and when he gets home from work every day, he gets off at the sixth floor and walks the rest of the way.  He would rather ride the elevator.  Why does he use the stairs?

Why did spoiler not work? :-s

He messed them up.

I would wager that a midget would be able to reach the button for the eighteenth floor fairly easily, and especially if he jumped. He could at least get higher than floor six; elevators are designed, in part, for handicapped people (i.e. those in wheelchairs, who'd have about the same height as a midget) to be able to reach the buttons.
Oh, whatever.  Here's one that I'm sure will stump someone.  All those who know the answer please don't post it until enough people have been humiliated.

Which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of gold?

Yeah, here's another:

"Even if you've never heard a word of Latin, you should be able to read and understand the following poem:

O sibili si emgo.
Fortibuses i naro.
O nobili demis trux.
Vatis inem?  Caus an dux."

Absolute oldest one in the book, man. I don't think you'll stump many with that one.

Raccoon sam wrote [spoilers]like this[/spoilers]. It's supposed to be:
Code:
[spoiler]like this[/spoiler]

like this

The elevator has only buttons for floors 1-6

I see no reason why it would be so but whatever.

Nobody I've asked knows the real answer.  They are not equal.

detonater300: No.
they're equal in zero gravity.
