No poetry this time, but instead a little something that is heavily inspired by Valve Software's "Portal". It somehow occured to me, that the story might not be as silly as it seems. There might be some mistakes, due to translation or my own stupidity. Anyway, I hope you like it.
Oh, and here's the original german version, for those who are interested in reading that one, too.

The cake is a lie

Just like every human, you want to have a piece of the big cake, too. There is nothing to fault there, for that way, you always strive to do your best. In doing so you are jumping from place to place, as if by magic, planning your life as good as you can, to achieve your aims at the end of the day. How dangerous the way may be, you're going further. Even if someone tells you, it would be impossible, you will not give in. It's running in your blood, as human. Humans like cake.
But someday you must discover, that life cannot be planned, like a test in an experimental laboratory. You are losing trusty companions, maybe even by your own fault, and slowly start to see behind the facade, where not all is perfect anymore. There, everything is filthy and covered with rust. You realize, the cake is a lie.
Do you then listen to the strange voice, that advises you to turn around, and pretend that nothing ever was? Could you even still live like that? At the time you did have fun, did you not? Or do you continue on your way, fight the voice, and comfort yourself with the knowledge, that you didn't get cake, in exchange for freedom?

THE CAKE IS A SPY?!  Question
portal rocks
Mister ...
Technically though, the cake wasn't a lie. It was just hidden deep in the Aperture Science Enrichment Center, inaccessible to any test subject.

I refuse to believe that unless and until Gordon finds Chell's corpse in Episode Three.

It could also be argued that death = freedom, but whatevz.
soaking through
According to Valve, Chell is still alive (har har)

Ha! I knew Chell didn't die. I figured that she could've just been looking up thinking "it's over, it's finally over" and then rested.

Until she is found by Gordon Freeman in ep3 and assists him in finding the Borealis.
