This new forum have two bad things: :-s

1: Where is page roller? There is many large topics, just like post your time topics, need help topics, social topics. You can,t leaf all pages fast enought here. You not can choose page what you want check. Old forum page roller was good thing. You can choose every old pages what you want to check.

2: Why other people writing are lost? EXAMPLE here:

My write is lost here. There is much more losting post too. Many MR.X writing is lost and many other peoples text too around the forum. Where is the other text/writing?

Can somebody fixed these things. It is fun read old post IMO. Very Happy

The disappeared posts is a known bug with the conversion to SMF that nate has to manually fix (which means of course that affected posts have to be located before they can be fixed). It has to do with special characters if I'm not mistaken.

And yeah, navigation through pages isn't the best. I want previous/next buttons, and that dropdown I imagine was very helpful. :/

1) hope to add this with a mod sometime. the problem is there's no mod already made for it so i'll have to write it myself, and so i'm waiting for the 15 december deadline for saber modding the forum to pass so i can safely do it.

2) yeah, just link me directly to the problem post and to the original post under http://m2k2.quandra.org/forum and i'll manually copy it over. if it's your post you can do it yourself.

I found an interesting thing there:
If the post contains some special characters, etc... the post will NOT be displayed, but it's still there.
This is because nate didn't transfer the whole data as utf8. So there is a conflict between the new and old data.
OR!!! The data has been transfered with utf8, but the page display isn't configured correctly. But i think it's number #1 because the html contains

what do you mean "it's still there"? and yes i figured that it was because i went to smf and unicode in one step (old forum was not unicode - didn't even have the capability).

He probably means that if you hit "quote" the text from the post will be there.

whoooooa, awesome. i never knew that. that's a much quicker way to get the content back without resorting to the old forum. thanks for pointing it out.

Hmm, it also seems to reappear if you just try to edit the post as well. So that's another option.

That's how I figured it out in my Pokemon Trading Thread.
Suddenly the first post was completely messed up. I hit the edit button And I noticed, that the character "é" caused the problem.
