All the wall talk is great for getting all the racists behind him, but anyone who knows anything could tell you even if the logistical nightmare of constructing it was cleared it wouldn't really do anything.
Historically speaking, unreasonably large walls haven't proven terribly effective. If he actually wanted to cut off his own giant cheap labor supply he'd actually reform immigration policy.
that seems to be the general assumption, but he also talks about doing some realistic things, and he's appointing lunatics to high positions, and if he gets the republicans on his side he could do a lot of damage
the thing is, it's almost impossible to do anything significant in four years, and presumably he won't be reelected, and all that would be immediately undone
that's sort of the safety measure we have i guess, idk
No. I reluctantly voted for what I considered to be the lesser of two evils. Too afraid of Trump's science-denial, out-of-touchness, and narcissistic personality to vote for him. I also think he's a complete liar. Not saying that isn't uncommon in politics, but he takes the cake.
I'm pretty confused about it all right now. Part of me is alarmed while the other part of me is feeling like everything will be fine. As soon as I feel OK, the alarmist part of me tells me I'm in denial like most of Europe was when Hitler took power. Then I talk myself out of it. Repeat.
That would be fine with me too. I guess the tipping point would be if The Constitution is shat upon in a major way. It protects us, but it's only a piece of paper. I just hope if that happens then it won't be too late.
