for the record that was posted when the game was like 23 - 13 and I figured the packers had a clear shot victory.

Gotta love it when my mom's whole side is cowboy fans and I'm here in green bay like whats up.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Watching that game with Packers fans was funny as hell.

Get ready to feel like you completely wasted your time by the end of The OA. :/

We finished it last night.  We disagree on what actually happened at the end.  It was kind of confusing.  I still enjoyed the series as a whole.  It was different in a good way.

hmm looks interesting, i'll check that out. right now i'm watching a series of unfortunate events, another new netflix show. it's based on one of my favorite book series and i'm liking it a lot so far

We watched the trailer and we're def going to watch that one thanks

i finished asoue yesterday and really loved it. i was hoping they'd adapt the books properly, and damn, they sure have. it's quite a dense show though - not sure what it would be like for someone who hasn't read the books, so i'm curious what you think, opium.

asoue was my favorite series as a kid, even more than harry potter, so fuck i am really looking forward to season 2

I watched the first episode of Unfortunate Events and it was pretty good. I only know of the series from that movie they did years ago that I never watched but seemed like kids on a weird adventure with a weirdo uncle. And that seems sort of true except "weirdo" in this case means "enormous piece of shit", which I didn't expect at all for some reason.

Also Patrick Warbuton popping in like some noir narrator is entirely my shit.

I'll probably make my way through kinda slowly but I'm pretty solidly on board with whatever this is.

nice! good to hear that sort of reaction from someone who hasn't read the series, the show is probably even sillier and weirder than the books, so i wasn't sure. the books (aside from the narration) are much less comedic and more grim. it totally nails the gothic feel and style though.

if you have any interest at all in children's lit, i highly recommend the books, they're cheap and short. can't wait for s2 ... the overall plot really starts in book 5, and things get a lot deeper and more intense and mysterious from there. :D

I'm halfway through asoue. I haven't read the books or seen the previous movie, but the bizarre dark whimsy of the whole thing is hitting all my buttons. Neil Patrick Harris's absolutely bizarre performance in particular is a joy to watch. He's absolutely absurd without going way too far over the top like (I assume) Jim Carrey does.
red chamber dream
safe assumption. i actually liked carrey's performance in the movie for what it was - it just wasn't the count olaf from the books. nph is much closer.

I could just listen to him say "theatre" all day.

TheATre.

heh you can tell he's having a blast in that role
Praise the Gods!  I get to work from home again, starting today.  It won't be every day, but most.  I can already feel the weight that that hag placed on my shoulders starting to lift.

Had a weird, random bit of trouble sleeping the night before last night, so I fell asleep around 8am (normally asleep by 12am), and then woke up at 3pm without stirring once.

Last night however was even worse. I lay down around 12am, again couldn't fall asleep. It's now 9am and I feel fine, and I have to go to work in half an hour.

Really concerned something is wrong with my brain

I've been having a great sleeping schedule for months now, never falling asleep past 1am on weekdays, never staying up past 4am on weekends, almost always asleep by 11pm.

Then out of nowhere my body was like, ehhhh, how about fuck you? No more sleeping.
I had sleep issues until I was about 30.  I think it was hormonal, perhaps?  Now I never have trouble falling asleep.

Have you tried using sleeping pills?
red chamber dream
you could try valerian root as well, i started taking that a bit and it's helped

could well just be a placebo effect though

Does Melatonin and/or Nyquil count?

It happens very rarely but it's extremely stressful when it does happen at times like this. Builds up my anxiety and stress and just all day I'm a walking zombie.

Even now I'm back home, it's past 3:30 so I'm going on 24 hours, and I feel perfectly fine minus a couple jitters.

I'll look into this and try it. I'd rather go with something natural than a hard drug

Melatonin's benefits are debatable, and you probably don't want to be using NyQuil on a regular basis. Definitely check out valerian root though, it's worked for me in the past as well.

plus it sounds like something out of game of thrones!

oh man i'm rewatching asoue and it's insane how many vfd logos and references i missed. and i was looking for them on the first watch too! if this series ends uo being anywhere near as dense as the books, i will be a happy guy

One of my best friends in the whole world got on a plane this morning to Mexico so he could look at property.  He's leaving because of Trump.
He's one of the smartest people I've ever met, and that's why it scares me so bad when he tells me how bad things might get.  I have this attitude like everything's going to be OK, and the doomsayers today are no different than the ones we've had after previous elections.  But he says this time it's different.  He told me that I could go with him, and bring my sweetie too.  I don't know what to think.
