I had the upper two removed with just a local, but I wasn't worried, since my dentist is exceptionally good.

yeah they gave me lots of vicodin too which makes the pain nonexistent (got all mine out at once) ... basically puts you on your ass and keeps you there though. good excuse to play games all day at least.

not sure what the point of that article was really, it was too ambitious and was clearly never going to work

I had a wisdom tooth out with a local anaesthetic (injection, presumably novocaine) and it was painless

by contrast the milk tooth I had out when I was a kid was done under general and I was puking all day

I'd rather have the injection, knocking you out is more dangerous because there's a small chance you might not wake up (although the pulse oximeter has made general anaesthesia much safer in recent times)

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!

Speaking of rolling cars, my dad recently witnessed an accident that seemed impossible. The guy was driving along my parents' road, which is very narrow, and has one row of cars on each side. There's barely enough room down the middle for a large van, and lorries / fire engines can't get down it at all. Anyway, some guy was driving along, and managed to lose control, have his car grind up the cars on one side, and landed roof down in the middle of the road. Shocked

My dad said that if he hadn't seen it, he wouldn't have believed somebody could do it.

heh some dude hit my mom a couple months ago and her van rolled twice in midair then landed rightside up on the grass. crazy stuff.

re wisdom teeth: i remember being somewhat lucid during my extraction ... maybe it was a gentler type of anesthetic, or i'm just remembering wrong. i tend to prefer that kind of thing over local because i really hate getting that damn needle in my gum. hurts like a bitch.

I was fully awake during mine. My dentist always spreads some local anaesthetic on a small foam sausage-shaped thing, which he sits along my gum before the needle goes in. I've never felt any injection, nor any work being done. Cool
