fair enough. for me though it's the other stuff in uncharted that keeps me interesting, like you know, the visuals and dialogue and setpieces. i don't need it to be artificially challenging by pumping up the hit points on the baddies.
in something like halo on the other hand, difficult enemies are the entire point. i want to work to take them down ... not really in uncharted though.
I just really love everything about the Uncharted series with the exception of Shambhala in the second game. To be honest, playing on Crushing was the only time I thought the combat was tedious. But I really do enjoy the combat, so who knows.
Still kind of :c that I never had time to get into the multiplayer because of school.
enjoying 3 much more now, i first played it on normal and all the fights just got so old because for some reason naughty dog thinks it's a good idea to make enemies absorb bullets like sponges
Tomb Raider.
I only have UC 1 , and I've only played it on normal. the way you describe the pace and the comparison to an action movie makes me want to play it on easy now. I suppose knowing that someone else is doing it helps my ego as well.
In a cover shooter harder difficulties should just make the enemy better about taking cover, blind firing, and getting around your little conveniently located waist high object. Not take longer to die.
Also maybe add more of them to s combat sequence.
Actually most games of any type should do things like that. The enemies taking forever to die version of hard mode that games love is the fucking worst. That is no way to make a game more challenging.
I think a lot of this depends on what one views as the default difficulty. Like, I tend to start on the hardest difficulty level I can right off the bat. So for me it's not so much that enemies take longer to kill on higher difficulties, it's that they take a much shorter time to kill on lower ones. If that makes any sense.
Which still has nothing to do with actual challenge and more to do with how much time you want to spend repeating the same action. It's faster, not easier.
My mom ended up calling the police on some dude today. Her and this guy pulled in at the same time and almost hit each other. He's in some fancy sports car and we have a huge escalade-ish rent-a-car car. My mom goes up on the curb to avoid hitting him, and the guy gets all flustered. She tells him "sorry and happy Easter" and the guy peeks out and drives up onto the sidewalk, almost hitting my uncle and his daughter (8) and gets out saying "you mouthed something! What the fuck did you say? I'm going to get you!" and at this point there's a big audience that saw everything, so my mom tells him she's calling the police and he says "good! I'm going to call them too! Then goes behind our rental car and gets the license plate then leaves.
Totally wild. The dude was like late 50s too. My uncle is piiiiissed an making sure the police follow through. Tons of witnesses can agree he tried to "assault" them with his car
