Maybe, but most things are slightly less damaging than oppression based on arbitrary factors like race, gender or sexual orientation. I'd rather not be a part of furthering those idiotic stances and see no reason not to point out the dumb things when they come up. It's possible to be aware of and acknowledge differences like that without being awful and Idk did in fact do that, but if you feel you ever have to say anything like, "I don't mean to sound racist" or "I don't care if I sound..." you need to reexamine what you're going to say and probably not say it at all if it actually does need the qualifier.

I'm kinda torn on that because yeah on one had, there's first amendment that says congress can't do shit about it, and on the other there's just awful people everywhere saying awful shit because *insert minority here* isn't around to hear it. I'd rather see them in jail than drug addicts. But they probably shouldn't be.

Maybe it's because I grew up in a white christian family that went to church in an upper class white area and if you want to hear awful, hateful people go spend some time at an upper class white people church on a Sunday. I might be a little bitter.

Technically yeah, but that doesn't make it less discriminatory and awful. And we still have plenty of issues with sexism and racism and all of that so I don't believe we're at a point where like haha black people amirite is acceptable in any context. I guess what I'm trying to say is that my exposure to that kind of person was a lot less- personal, I guess? Like they were just these weird whiny people who were really angry about women and the gays and also poor people that I only encountered once a week. Like really angry.
