red chamber dream
fear of a blank planet the album reminds me of failure sort of, got that grimy 90s vibe going on
Stupid Dream was a pretty cool album to me.
red chamber dream
i guess what makes them "prog" though are the rhythms and drumming and whanot ... extremely complex stuff
red chamber dream

that may be my favorite on the album
Wow, only 6 songs on the entire album? Guess they pulled an Animals. :P
red chamber dream
yeah heh and only one of them is particularly long

's one of the reasons i love the album so much, it's easy to really get to know all the songs, and they're all fucking incredible
I oughta give Stupid Dream and that album a listen.
red chamber dream
yes
In the meantime, you listen to I, Robot and Turn of a Friendly Card.
red chamber dream
heh yeah will do
I like turtles.
Oh, Porcupine Tree.  A group I've actually heard of, for once.  "Piano Lessons" is my favorite of theirs.
Hey, that's the next song on Stupid Dream!!!
red chamber dream
lol isn't that song intentionally mainstream and cookie-cutter sounding
I like turtles.
Comes in value packs of ten, in five varieties
The song's riff sounds like Last Dance with Mary Jane and Dani California.
red chamber dream
heh yeah you're right
I like turtles.
Which riff?  The one that starts it off?
red chamber dream
yeah the main hook
red chamber dream
it sounds like a lot of songs lol

Mm, I love that chord progression, whether cookie cutter or not.  I guess there'd be a reason for it to be (and I hope the Hipster Police aren't listening) mainstream.
red chamber dream

that's another off the top of my head
red chamber dream
yeah turtle i'm not hating on the song, it's supposed to be a statement on mainstream music i guess
red chamber dream
just not something i'd list as one of my favorites of theirs because there's just not much interesting going on

I like turtles.
Aren't a lot of Porcupine Tree songs like that?  Noting how processed and inorganic the music industry has become?  Not that I listen to them a whole lot, they do have that whole "lyrics" thing goin' on, and that's not usually my department.
red chamber dream
yeah i think so, like i said i'm not really a fan of most of their stuff i've heard heh
